Hi kdds05screw,

Congrats on your next new 2006 truck & getting your tuning updated!

I'm also glad to hear that you have access to Sunoco Ultra 94 octane - these days we're seeing that less & less - for example, we have one Sunoco station in these parts, it's 20 miles away, and offers 93, but not their Ultra 94.

And in some areas that still offer the Ultra 94, we're seeing that the Ultra 94 is ethanol-blended, which lowers the BTU content.

SO congrats on your new 2006 truck, your newly updated tuning, and on having Ultra 94 available!

Just our of curiosity - in your area, is your Sunoco Ultra 94 "gasohol," meaning ethanol-blended (having a 10% ethanol content)? I'm just curious............

Loaded the XCal2

Hey Guys,

Got the tuner today and after 30 minutes of reading installed the 87 octane tune. Everything installed without a hitch and then the real test.....WOW WHAT A DIFFERENCE . It is almost unbelievable how much can be done with such a small device. I can't wait to fill up with some 93 to see if there is another noticeable difference with that tune, if there wasn't I'd still be happy. What got me the most, was I punched it at about a 10 mph roll and the tires broke loose. The truck has never even thought about doing that in the past. Mike, thanks for all that you do for all of us... "Hats off to ya".

Mike- I got all the papers for the Mustang but the wife said something stupid about "buying living room furniture", (I hope she doesn't see this post). But she was impressed with the truck's performance. She asks, "Can't we just load this into the Mustang?" I chuckled... I'll be sendin' the worksheets in in a week or two, but I gotta see how much damage she does on furniture.

Thanks again,

Greenhaw

Well for one, you buy the edge, you are on your own.
its a canned tune and not specific to your vehicle.

From the posts seen here, customer service can be spotty.

You get the XCALII from Mike, you get custom tuning and flawless customer support, and a product in my opinion that is superior in all respects.

So in my opinion, if you want top performance and someone around to BACK your purchase Mike is the way to go.

If you don't care about these things and are looking to impress the neighborhood kids with a display, then the edge is for you!

I understand completely about the wife saying "need to buy new living room furniture"!!!!! My wife couldn't understand why I needed to upgrade to an X-Cal2. Women think so differently at times. I am glad though after 21 years of marriage that she knows that look in my eyes when I want something and knows there is no stopping me. Of course there is always something she gets in return but it doesn't matter.

Hey MT - just topped it off with 94 again before road trip today. Nothin on the pumps or in the store to indicate the ethanol blend ( or even the Sunoco tanker truck that was there) , I know what you mean though, I've seen some places where they actually put a sticker on the pump when it is. There's also a Hess station down the road with 93 octane for only 2.49/gal.. cheap for this area - no ethanol indicators either.
