Question for Mike Troyer or anyone else...

I was hoping to order a Superchip #1100 today but I ran into a problem. My computer code on the passenger side door got wet and I can't make out the letters and number. Is there anyway I can find out what the code is? Or is there a common code for my specific truck? I have a 2002 Supercrew XLT 4x4. The first letter appears to be a V or U...

Also Mike, is the tune on the Superchip 1100 a custom tune? or is it just the standard "off the shelf" tune by superchip?

The code can be found on the computer itself. It's located behind the glove box, sticking through the firewall, close to the passenger side kick panel.

Appreciate the help. I decided to go with a programmer instead. Thanks for the reply though.

Hi Miles,

Most likely, what you have is a UAT2 or UAT3, or an SVB1 or SVB2 - sometimes it can be confusing between what's a "V" versus what's actually a "U." It could also be another code entirely, given the fact that there are hundreds of different PCM revisions each model year alone.

It's always easy to locate your computer code, even if the sticker has worn off in the door frame - in the 1997-2003 F-150, just look above the passenger's kick panel, and there you will see the PCM - there will be a small black plastic clip holding the PCM up against it's mounting bracket - just slide that straight back, and then you will see another sticker with the code on it, right there on the back of the PCM, very easy to find!

Unless you went with a generic type of programmer, you will still need the computer code to have the vehicle tuned properly - and going with *any* generic off-the-shelf tuner greatly reduces the power & performance gains, so just FYI.

Last - what comes in the 1100 is a standard Superchips tune - not *our* custom tuning. To get our custom tuning, you need to order the 6600 multi-program chip, or the 5500 single-program chip - or either the 9100, 9300, or 9400 custom tuners, any of which can be programmed for your truck, however, I recommend doing the 9400 so you have the latest & greatest. It's all a matter of what features are important to you.

If you are trying to find the least expensive way to get into our custom tuning, for that truck, it would be the 5500 single program chip - next would come the 6600 multi-program chip - then next from that would come the 9100, which is a custom Micro Tuner - and it's about the same cost as our multi-program chip, so it's significantly less than the XCalibrator 2 - and since you have a pre-2004 F-150, you can easily use the 9100 if you like.

Please feel free to give us a call to go over all the details, so you can get our custom tuning in the product that will fit your budget & needs, etc., we're happy to go over all of that in proper detail with you.
