I was reading some older threads here and saw a mention of the Xcal being modular. Does anyone know when any accessories will come out?? What kind of things are we talking about?? I would like to see a monitor or some sort of display.

I know Edge offers one but not for an '02.

Hi Adam,

The first option is scheduled to be a dash-mountable touch screen. The timeframe for shipping is not known at this point, as components have to be sourced and design finalized, but the design of the 9400 is modular in that it has input/output capabilities for future options like that.

As soon as we hear more on that, we'll be letting everyone know!

Well, since the X2 itself is compatible with 1996 & newer Ford products, I'd hazard a guess and say any modular add-on accessories would also work

To the best of our knowledge, MGDFan is exactly right - the screen is supposed to be compatible with all the vehicles the XCal 2 works with. Now as soon as I say that, at some point in the R&D we'll hear differently, but it really should be just a matter of the same screen, but displaying different things based on what you select to see - and that would be determined by the vehicle type - a diesel would be different from a gas engine in some regards, and the ETC trucks might have some different things compared to the pre-04's. Now of course,this is all conjecture at this point, but as of now we have not heard anything regarding the screen not being compatible with any vehicle the 9400 can be programmed to work on.
