I just tried to switch the tune on my Xcal2 but when I plugged it in the Xcal didn't power up (with key on or off). What the heck?

In a recent post, Mike stated that 9 times out of 10 that is because it is not plugged in securely. He recommends using 2 hands, grab the back of the trucks port with 1 and securely push the Xcal in with the other!

Check the fuse for the cigarette lighter. It's probably blown.

Check the fuse to the cigar lighter #41 20amp. It also powers the diagnostic conector.

Thanks, but that's not the problem. I checked that about 10 times and just went back outside and checked it again.

Fuse #41 is bad. Why would it blow? I never use the cig lighter. Going down to the local AZ to get another fuse.

LOL Thanks guys! (I hope you were being sarcastic)

EDIT: So, I put 2 fuses in and they both blew on contact. I don't understand.

Thanks, but I already tried that. That was the 2nd fuse that blew.

Sounds like you have an electrical problem there - if the fuses blow right away. I've never seen any tuning device cause a blown fuse, not once, ever, so I would have to think you have something else going on, a ground short of some other problem that needs to be checked out.

The fuse that governs power to the OBD-II port is the fuse for the cigarette lighter (as you already know by now).

By the way, as I'm sure you know from reading our docs, we do have an emergency tech support voicemail system that allows you to leave a message, and if it's over the weekend, we'll get back to you before the weekend is out - now if it's just after hours during the week, you won't hear back from us until 9 am the next morning - just a quick FYI reminder just in case (and you probably already know that by now as well, but just in case), so feel free to call us again if you need to talk to us (that is, if you have not already by now spoken to someone here), & good luck!
