2006 F150 5.4 Programmers?

I just got a 2006 f150 XLT with the 5.4 in it and want to get a programmer, intake and exhaust as soon as possible, but all I see are programmers for the 2004-2005 trucks. I know they are the same motors, and you can use the exhaust from those trucks and the intakes I think, but what about the programmers? I was looking at a diablosport and superchips. Thanks, Rich.

Try using the search function and do some research. There are plenty of threads in this section on programmers and whatever else you might want so take some time and read what is already posted.

There are quite a few people that have the X-Cal1 or X-Cal2 from Troyer Performance with custom tuning from Mike Troyer. I bought theX-Cal1 from TP and love it.

Welcome to the forum!

Kevin

Thanks for the welcome, I have been a member for years, but in between my F150's I had an F350 and now I am back. My question is that I see NO ONE with a superchips or a diablosport on an 06 model, why is this? I know you can take an SCT Xcal2 and send it to him and let him work his magic, but what other potions are out there for me. these trucks are so new that I cant find much on them. Thanks.

Your not going to get an unbaised opinion here, but you should check out the new edge programmer.

Define unbiased?? Do you mean Mike Troyers Custom tunes. If one feels they want something less than the best than by all means choose something else. If you want superior customer service, knowledge of the platform being tuned, results, and technical support than bye from Mike Troyer

If I buy from Mike then I dont get the flexability of changing in between gear ratios, tires sizes, shift points for towing a huge camper, and all the things I can do with a handhled tuner that has all the flexability right in the palm of my hands at any given second. With mikes tune its just there or its not right? He gives you the tune that will rock your owlrd but you are stuck with that and theres no changing it from one day to the next, most people want to leave the tune I understand that, but in my case I will not be doing that, I will be changing little things constantly. Thanks. NOw here is my question again....................Will the tuners from an 04-05 fit an 06? Are there any differences? Thanks.

Or, am I wrong about this? Can you get an economy burn, hi erformance burn, and so on, and then independantly of that, no matter what tune you have loaded, can you hook the tuner up and change your gear ratio, can you change you tire size without changing your tunes, can you change your shift points and all without touching your tuning? Thanks, maybe Im just confused because this Toyer tuning is new to me, Im not sure exactly what he can do with what and for what. Thanks.

1 Bad 2006 Mark Lt

I have a 2006 Lincoln Mark LT, had it programmed by Arizona Dyno Chips.
Installed 4.88 gears, AEM intake, & Gibson Sport truck exhaust. This 5.4L
engine w/ BFG 315/70/17 on Walker Evans Wheels & 6" Fabtech lift will
blow away any Ford truck or Chevy that is stock w? stock wheels or remotely close. If you want more info - Respond!

Dyno

If u have access, take truck and have it programmed on a dyno. This is the only way it specifically tunes for your truck. I spent 5.5 hours programming on dyno. Runs awesome. Oh by the way SCT Programmer.

you should really look into the new edge. it has all the features you mentioned and takes about 10 seconds to change tunes. you put in tire size and other options like that. can be updated online, and has a 4 window readout with 19 options to monitor the engine and tranny. also a 60' time and 1/4 mile time readout. something brand new to our trucks! check it out under the group buy and the Q and A section of the said programmer. i along with at least 60 people are waiting for this to ship as i type. it has been tested by beta testers for months before being released.
i do hear alot of positive things about mike troyer, so that is another great option. just letting you know there is more then one option now.

So are you guys saying that any tuner from a 2005 F150 with the 5.4 will work with my 2006? Thats what I have to know first, then I will decide what to get. Thanks.

I don't see why not. I know the Edge works with all 2004+ models.
