Here ya go dude. This is a pdf that an engineer from Edge sent us.

Edge PDF

You can also go into the Group Buy Section and read about 70 pages of posts on this product from the beta testers that are regulars on this site.
Be careful...of the 70 pages only about a dozen or so are actually factual. The rest it is about the group buy we have going on.

Also if you check the 2004-2006 section there is a thread "Q & A Edge Programmer", not sure on the name but its something like that.

Hope this helps.

Well I pulled the trigger and ordered the EDGE Programmer, now I hope that it gets here before too long. Thanks for all of the help and clearing up all of the questions that I had. Like I said, I am new to all of this technology and couldn't get a straight answer elsewhere. Thanks again, and I will let you know how it goes on the install. Rich.

Actually, as most people here know, we've been tuning the 2006 F-150's ever since they started rolling off the assembly line months ago - and have custom-tuned more of them than anyone else.

And no, you do *not* give up any "flexibility" such as not being able to make your own changes immediately for things like tire sizes, gear ratios, octane levels for tuning, shift points, shift firmness levels, and much more - that is a myth. That has been available in our custom tuning for quite some time now, with many people enjoying that flexibility.

Everyone is welcome to make their choice of course - we fully support that, every vehicle owner needs to do whatever makes them the happiest!

As most here know, those who want the best F-150 tuning have come to us for the past 14+ years, as we have specialized in tuning the F-150 platform longer than anyone else - and we are routinely called in to help other companies develop their products as a result of our expertise on this platform.

Best of luck with whatever each vehicle owner chooses, I just wanted to make it clear that there is no such "flexibility limitation" as was assumed - just FYI.

5 hours of it was probably changing the tunes using the slow xcal2

the xcal2 is a good product and "may" give you more power (depending on who tunes it (and how they tune it). The Edge has some neat features that i like over the xcal2. The jury is out on how much power it will make though.
It's a good problem to have...

Hypertech also makes a programmer specifically for the 2006 Ford 5.4 3v, I had to call to get that info. The part number is 41043. search it on their site.

Ive used Diablo in the past and was not happy with them. There customer service is not the best (I will leave it at that) Now saying that I got the Edge 0ne week ago and it is great, it gave me my passing gear I never had and off the line is very responsive. Totally woke up my truck and all this is based on the 87 tune. Next tank I will run the 91 tune but probably just once to see how it feels. 87 tune is perfect imo.

cobraman I have an 06 screw and its my belief that yes all tuners for the 05 work. I have a xcal from troyer and I know it works. You can get 3 custom tunes from Mike and switch them around as you want. I have 2 tow tunes and 1 performance tune. My understanding is there will be options to change the things you are asking about in the near future with the xcal ie.tire size and gear ratio.

Troyer sells the sct tuners, and also the edge.Diablo sells their tuners also.I think instead of asking us about which tuner is available, maybe you should do a google on all tuners, call or email the mfg., ask them all the questions you have.Call the companies selling their tunes incorporated with different tuners, and ask them how much freedom you have to adjust in each situation.
I don't remember reading info anywhere around here about changing individual characteristics within a custom tune, and the inpact it would have on the tune.
Once you find all that out, please post what you have gathered for others to learn from. Thanks
