New Edge Programmer Questions
New Edge Programmer Questions
Hi All,
First and foremost, I am not trying to start a battle here. I have using Troyer perfomance products for the last 5 years. Mike and his staff are A-1 in customer service and technical knowledge. This is what I posted in '04 and Later forum...
I have an Xcal2 (traded up from the xcal1) , Troyer tuned. A great product and A-1 customer service(a plug for Troyer). I am not at all unhappy except SCT's lack of self contained datalog feature, which was supposed to be released last August and has yet to be released.
I like the units look, fit and functionality. Although I would like to see dyno #s. I am still intrigued. I have not dynoed/datalogged my truck yet. So I may compare a best guess Troyer tune vs. Edge. I will only be able to do a single fuel grade but it's better than nothing. Plus after datalogging I will get an updated Troyer tune and do it again.
I guess this will solve many questions about what is best for HP and Tq. Longevity is another entire issue.
Questions....
What longevity issues should I be concerned with?
I guess this is for Mike, Have you looked into this product and it's functionality?
Can this be as good as it claims and still remain safe?
I will be getting one of these for the "cool" factor but I need to make sure it can be used as a monitor only device if need be.
Thanks Mike, your company will still a great chunk of my business.

I have the Edge Triton gas programmer which I bought before the XC2 released this year. It works ok, and my a/f's are ok.
I am currently using it in place of my XC2, as I sent the XC2 back to Troyer for new tunes and firmware updates........ just can't be stock.
I would do a search on this, as a new Edge programmer is about to be released.
In the long run, your best bet is a Troyer tuned XC2.......better custom tunes and reprogramming and a wealth of knowledge not available elsewhere.
