Cam Recommendation please....

I blew a head gasket at the end of the season this year. Now I need to pull my built motor to replace the head gaskets. When I do this, I think I want to replace the cams I have currently with a more aggressive cams. My question is what cams would you recommend? My current combo is.....

Modular Performance built lower end
CNC ported heads with 1mm oversized valves/
Crower stage 2 supercharger cams with the correct springs
Magnum Powers blower 2.7 upper pulley
8# lower pulley
Dynatech long tube headers with high flow cats
Autolite AR-93 plugs
SBTB
C&L intake tube
BA 2400 mass air
JL ram air CAI
electric fans
power cooler in bed
FT total Dominator 2600 converter
FTVB 2C version

This is on a 2001 Lightning also. I also have the x-cal 2 tuned by Mike himself. Thanks

Rich

HI!... Call COMP CAMS directly and talk to MATT in the cam tech department. He will ask you many questions but will help you pick out the perfect cams for your set-up. That's what I did and with MIKE's help got a set of .600 lift cams for my future TURBO set-up. But currently I'm running them in my built N/A 5.4 and they are making it scream! Hoping to hit high 12's in N/A form.

Hi Rich,m

Good to see you again!

Actually, instead of calling Comp Cams directly, the smart thing to do would be to call us directly, so I can go over everything with you.

I know your setup pretty well, & there are a number of things we need to take into consideration in the cam selection that the folks at Comp Cams are not going to be best at right off just cold-turkey. Don't get me wrong, they're great at what they do, and we use Comp Cams for a LOT of our cams, but the hot tip is to call us first, so we cna go over a number of things before we spec out the next cams.

That is one wicked truck, I can wait to see the next round on this one - and next time we tune you, assuming you come to us, you'll be running on our eddy-current dyno, where we'll get you a bit more accuracy and some better part-throttle tuning as well, as there are a couple of things I'd like to tweak a bit on that truck, even with as well as it's running right now.

I never did get to re-tune it after the ignition system was really up to snuff, etc., so I can't want for the next go-round.

Best of luck & hope to talk with you soon!
