Mike is worth the hype

Ok, since my last post the roads have cleared up and I've had the chance to hit the gas. Like I said, I got the Xcal2, underdrive pullies, AF1, e water pump, e fans, and a throttle body. I used the 87 performance tune first given the weather up here, and it seems like a whole new truck--responsive as hell. In fact, I was taking my girlfriend and her son to a football award banquet he was part of, and when she said "we are going to be late" I said, "no were not" and punched it. It was great hearing the engine, "Holy ****!" and "Goddamit Chuck"....lol.

A much better test is going to be going on the next week though....I changed to the 91 towing tune, and will be going from Wisconsin to Signal Mountain, TN to pick up and '70 Lincoln Mark III, back to Wisconsin, back to TN to pick up another Mark III, back to Wis, then to Ontario to pick up a 1973 Country Squire. The truck was able to haul a Mark VIII without any trouble with its stock tune, but pulling these 6,000# cars plus trailer up and down the mountains is going to give it one hell of a work out. I'm leaving late this afternoon, and will be back in a week to let ya know how this goes....wish me luck..lol.

PS. Thank God my dealership got the recall part in for the Cruise Control recall yesterday. For anyone who doesn't know that the recall parts are coming in to the dealerships now, give yours a call.

which tune will you be using to tow

Did you go with the 93 tow or the 87 tow tune? I ordered mine yesterday and plan on getting a 87 tow (pulling a 4000# boat), a 87 performance and a 93 performance tune. I am just waiting on the worksheets to come via email and then I will promptly send them in and then play the waiting game.

for my 91 towing, I went with the 91 octone towing

Its pretty tough to get 93 octane in alot of areas, so I went with 91 because you can get that anywhere. I'd call Anita and ask if a 4000# boat would benefit from more horsepower than you would get with the 87 tow.

HI Raddad,

Thanks very much for your kind post - glad to hear you've been able to have some fun on some clear roads, & good luck towing one of my favorite luxo-boats, the Mark III, you lucky rascal!

The 91 tow makes sense when you don't know if you might be towing in areas where you cannot get 93 octane -

It's also nice for those for whom I can do those 94 octane tunes, as we can lay it on a bit more with that kind of octane in the tank.

No matter what the octane, we'll make it sing!

Have fun everyone,
