xcal2-2 different fords?

Hello, This is my first 1st post. I just wanted to start off by saying Great site!!! lots of useful info.

I just recently purchased (or stole!) a 2002 scab lariat with 20k miles, so far I love it and ready to start the mods, so I thought I'd start with the xcal2.

Now for my ?, I also own a 2000 mountaineer 5.0AWD, and am wondering will the xcal2 work for both the f-150 and the mounty? and can custom tunes be programmed for both?

Thanks

Dan

welcome aboard!

and i dont believe you can. as far as im aware each xcal2 is locked with 1 vin number / ecm number.. so i dont think you can use one for both.

I am a little unsure what you are asking. If you are asking if you can get an xcal2 for a mountaineer I bet you can but can not say sure. If you are asking if you can use one xcal2 on two vehichles then the answer is NO. They are locked in to one vehichle at a time.

Hi guys;

I type slower than all you guys, but my excuse was, I was doin' some searching for y'all. Jeez, I do that a lot...

Anyway I recall a really long but very entertaining thread a while ago on just this exact topic.

Well worth reading, and Mike T. jumps in a couple times too, which by itself makes good reading

https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...tiple+vehicles

In a nutshell, technically it is feasible. SCT needs the impetus to make it happen in the form of user demand and a premium charged on the product to recoup the costs this would incur. There would still be some limitations. Read the thread.

For Trane7714 - get familiar with the Search feature. I just plugged in "xcal+multiple+vehicles" into Advanced Search and out this pooped - took 5 seconds, if that. Good luck.

Cheers

^^^Yes it was. I enjoyed reading it. Funny though; once the thread turned intelligent and positive...it died

Thanks for the info guys. I'm new to the using a tuner or chip. I was reading about the Xcal2 and it said

"SCT’s XCalibrator 2 loaded with a set of 3 Troyer Performance custom programs, available for any OBD-II FoMoCo vehicle 1996-2005 "

so I thought maybe it would work. Missed the "vehicle" not vehicles part

I Figured I needed to post at least one topic, before I called Mr.Troyer and asked for the discount for being a registered member.

Now my question is which mod first?

Electric Fan or
Xcalibrator Any suggestions

Thanks

Dan

Mike and everyone here will tell you hands down the biggest bang for your buck is a custum tuned xcal2 from troyer performance.
And i now agree after just getting my xcal2.. nothing you can do short of supercharger will as big of a difference as a custom job from Mike.
