is there any difference between xcal and xcal2?

Yes, the XCal2 is more sophisticated than the XCal1 but both hold three custom tunes. They both are just a delivery devises for custom tunes, so the main and most important thing is who makes the custom tunes

There are numerous very important differences - I would suggest using the SEARCH feature here to easily look up all the various details of each unit, as this has been gone over literally hundreds & hundreds of times, so it's easy to find using SEARCH.

Now there is no difference in terms of the effect on your vehicle, either unit is capable of delivering our Troyer Performance custom tuning - but the XCal 2 is hands down the way to go, it has the built-in diagnostic capability and not just OBD-II but also CAN and manufacturer-specific info, as well as the highest speed datalogging available, updateable firmware, USB connectivity & so many more things that make it the unit to go with.
