More horsepower of of a 5.4

I already have the K&N cold air intake system, and a throttle body spacer, what chip or other mods can be done to this 5.4 to juice it up a bit?

The XCal2 with custom tuning done by Troyer Performance is the best IMO

Hey kw - can't decide if the throttle body spacer is worth it, every little bit helps, notice anything after you installed this?

To answer your post, I ordered the xcal2 from Troyer, waiting on delivery, great results posted from others here, but so far I have done the CAI and catbacks. The CAI is the only mod where you can actually feel some sort of performance increase, the catbacks actually make it sound like a truck...

IMO the xcal2 from Troyer is the best mod for your truck. You can certainly feel "seat of the pants" performance. I have cat-back exhaust, CAI, and spacer (paper weight). currently running 93 perf. tune from Troyer. Its not just the tuner, its who tunes it. IMO Troyer tunes are the best and their customer service is the same.

I just went down to ford and told them my MPG and throttle response sucks, and had them recalibrate my computer to the newer version. It made a pretty big difference and Ive only had it for 30 miles or so. I dont know if it applies to you but there is a whole thread about it on here.

Hi kw_ad04,

There are *many* things that can be done to add more power & performance to your 5.4 - the first thing to start off with in terms of the best bang for the buck would be our Troyer Performance custom tuning - that will get you more power and performance than anything else for the same or less cost, and you get a special discount on all of our tuning products since you are a registered member of F-150 Online - just give us a call for details at our number listed below. We typically gain well over 30 Hp at the rear wheels on our premium gas tuning for the 5.4 2V F-150, and 12-15 HP on 87 octane - with more HP & torque all the time, at any throttle position or rpm, as well as much better transmission shifting, the top speed limiter removed, much better overall powertrain response times, vastly improved driveability, etc.

The throttle body spacer is a paperweight - it won't hurt you, but it really doesn't add anything. Having a top quality intake kit is the #2 best bang for the buck mod, Air Force One does the best job there, Airaid is also a top-notch brand to use, and there are other that are suitable for the 1997-2003 F-150 as well, such as your K&N FIPK kit.

Next up after our tuning would be a cat-back exhaust system - so basically, the top 3 best bang for the buck mods are our custom tuning, the intake kit, and then the Magnaflow cat-back system - in fact, that is what constitutes our Troyer Performance Stage 1 package.

We have specialized in the performance of the F-150 for 14 years, longer than anyone else, so we can literally take your F-150 just as far as you want to go performance-wise, it's all a matter of just how much power you want versus what it's wroth to you - like a lot of things, I suppose!

If you'd like to go over any of this in more detail, please feel free to give us a call at our number listed below & we'll be happy to help you.
