did turn out to be my stupid *** trying to upload the wrong tune. but me and my tuner are having some problems gettin the tune right for my injectors and MAF... the last tune he sent me was way rich and it wouldnt use 1st gear or OD.. i may end up having to spend big bucks and get it dyno tuned.... but hes sending be a basic xtr for my ecu and he'll let me tweak it till its right.

Hi Faster.

If I read you right, you are expecting to 'tweak' your tunes with ExtremeTune and your supplied XTR.

Just be aware that this will not give you the granular control you need to adjust your tune properly... if you didn't already know this. ExtremeTune is very basic & limited (and rightly so).

How are you measuring your A/F's?

Good luck.

Cheers

Sounds like you got a real mess on your hands. Have you tried posting your dilemma on the SCT forum and asking them for help? Emailing Ryan at SCT might be a good idea too.

I don’t think you’re going to get the most out of your XCal2 with a canned tune that you have to tweak yourself, that kind of defeats the purpose of paying someone to do custom tuning for you.

Good luck though, and keep us posted

Sounds like you need more than tweeking :o Black smoke and detonation? Fuel trim, timing and transmission malfunction? My God, man. You are a poster child for "Get your XCal2 from a reliable dealer who knows how to custom tune your truck" This forum taught me that, and that is why I went TP.

Don't get me wrong, I feel your pain. I hope that Mike will make an exception and at least point you in the right direction. But he has been preaching forever on not doing what you did.

Best of luck to you.

Did you have a tuner on your truck beforehand? Did you have your truck reflashed when you took it in for service? There are several different scenarios that could be going on. The best bet is to call Troyer Performance if that is where you got it from and ask him.

troyers price on the Xcal2 is $499 i paid $268 shipped! i saved $231+ depending on his cost of shipping.. so yeah 231 bucks is 231 bucks i saved and can use for another mod. hell i could get a set of headers for that much. or nitrous kit.. throttle body new intake... valves, springs. either way i saved a buncha money and got a good deal. but me and my tuner will get the problem worked out. the issue has to be with stuff not clearing off when my chip is removed then i try to upload the tune. so as soon as WDS is up and working at my dads work we will flash the ECM back to stock then see if the tune will take.
