You guys are great

I want to thank you and Anita once again for helping through a problem.Between you telling me to clean the air sensor, Ford identifing the problem and Anita informing me that Airaid had upgraded their air tube in early 05 due to the problem I was having, and Airaid sending me the upgraded tube. I think I now have cured the check engine light problem. I am going to run it a few more days in stock to be sure. Then I will shift it to 87 performance once again. I assume that won't pose a problem or that I need to call in for a upgrade. Ford reflashed the computer, but I can't find on the paperwork where they issued a new code. Am I right in assuming I can proceed as usual? Thanks again for your help on this annoying problem.

Thanks for your kudos, they are greatly appreciated!

As we point out in our documentation, if your PCM is reflashed in 2004 & newer F-150's after we make your tunes, in many cases you will need to have us make all new custom tunes to match that new code.

You can try uploading your previous tuning, and see how the vehicle runs - if it runs OK and there are no obvious problems (and I mean obvious problems, not the normal settling in that is always required after uploading our performance tuning as adaptive strategy goes to work during the first 300-1000 miles or so), then you're OK. But if there are any issues with how the vehicle runs that are not part of the normal adaptive strategy settling in after loading or performance tuning, then they will be solved only by us doing a complete new set of custom tunes. We do that at a reduced price for those who have their PCM's reflashed after we provide our custom tuning, as we point out also in our docs.

If there are any issues, you will need to call us and you will need to have the reflash information from the dealership - again, all of this is pointed out clearly in our documentation.

The bottom line is that you may need new tuning because of that reflash, and these types of matters are things you will need to call us about to handle.

Good luck!
