Question for Mike T about datalogging
I'm asking you this on here rather than calling because I think there are others that will find your answer of value.
A short time ago you posted that the Xcal2 will soon have the capability to datalog independant of a laptop. I dont have access to a laptop so this is of great interest to me.
1. Will it have the capbility to hold enough data for 3 pulls, or will it have to be downloaded between pulls?
2. I know you dont have an exact date but is it ok for us to wait until the Xcal update is ready to do our datalogging. (how long is too long?)
3. Is there an additional charge (not how much) for a new tune after datalogging or is it included in the package we purchased from you?
4. Do the new tunes just get emailed to us in .xrt format?
I found a dyno facility I can use, but they are addiment that I can't connect to thier computer (because I have the ability and resources to disguse a device to look and act like an Xcal2 that will remove all the data from thier computer so I can sell it.
)
Thanks in advance

Hi 05,
For numerous details like that, please give us a call, it's to much for us to type it all out - and some of this is not appropriate to be discussed here anyway, and/or is explained in detail on our web site and in the datalogging instructions that every one of our custom tuning customers has already received - so most of this is redundant and is already covered in those various sources.
Briefly...........
Dialing in the Air/Fuel ratios is included in our custom tuning package, as long as there have been no other changes made to the vehicle since we tuned it, and it's done within a 60 day timeframe. We have to set a time limit on it, as some people will wait 18 months and then want all new tuning, etc., we've had a number of people really abuse that and get out of hand in the past - so for us to dial in the A/F ratios, we do that FREE as long as the datalogging info is provided to us within 60 days of receipt of our tuning. And yes, that can be sent via email, no problem!
One thing that is a good idea after thoroughly reading our datalogging instructions, is to give us a quick call just before datalogging, to make sure the vehicle owner has a clear understanding - it's actually very simple with as well as our docs explain it, so anyone that just reads & follows our docs isn't' going to have a problem - but some people need a little coaching, so giving us a call isn't a bad idea just prior to datalogging. there is also a little trick you can datalog that allows us to determine the **approximate** A/F ratios without having to have a wideband A/F recorder.
