Exclamation Best chip?

I知 new to aftermarket mods and I知 looking to increase my MPG, everything else is secondary. So I figured a chip would be the best place to start, I don稚 want to spent much money right now.

I知 looking for any suggestions on what kind of chip to buy, keeping in mind that better mpg is the priority and performance is a close second. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

P.S I知 still open to other options besides a chip, but right now (and until December) money is a problem, so nothing extreme.

I don't think you can chip a 2005 F-150. Have to have a programmer, of which there are a couple available. The one all these guys use, the Xcalibrator2, and the superchips microtuner. There might be one or two more, but they are all relatively high dollar (especially for those who are broke, like me!) but work relatively well so I have heard. I had to chip mine (its a 98) because I couldn't wait 2 months for a custom tuned programmer
