??? about bolt on HP for my truck

X-cal 2 programmer and Air Force One Air Intake, are they worth the money?? I've been looking at them on Troyler Performance's web page. Honestly, will they give me a difference I can feel?? I have a 2003 F150 Ext. cab, small 4.6L V-8 bolted to a 5 speed manual tranny. Let me hear from others who have 4.6L's with mods, or other folks who can help me out here. Thanks.

Darren

Are they worth the money?? That depends. Is it worth it to you to pay for additional horsepower? How bad do you want it? Those two questions you posted are very common on this site. If you do a search, or even call Troyer they can give you dyno results in hp and torque then all you have to do is check your banking account. But yes it seems that those two combinations are they more popular choice here. The AF I believe at a certain RPM range will actually give you more HP than an Airraid, and the Xcal2 is a custom tuner according to your driving preferences, engine, etc. etc. So do a little research than give them a call. All of their staff is very helpful.. Oh and dont let the women intimidate you. They may teach you something about your truck you didnt know......

Hi Darren,

The reality is that our Troyer Performance custom tuning and that intake kit are literally the #1 and #2 best bang-for-the-buck performance enhancements you can make for that vehicle, respectively.

Now of course just doing 2 simple low-cost mods like that are not going to turn that 2.5-3 ton truck into a rocketship - but it will certainly be well worthwhile, the truck will feel stronger, accelerate quicker, and have more horsepower and torque all the time, at any throttle position or rpm. And they are the first 2 mods to start off with simple due to their bang-for-the-buck order, being the top 2 best bang for the buck mods.

There are also plenty of other additional modifications that can be done to that truck after doing the tuning & intake kit - we can literally take it as far as any owner wants to go, it's all a matter of how much each owner wants to spend to improve the performance of their vehicle - but starting off with the tuning & intake is an excellent move, do your mods in the order of best bang for the buck is what we advise.

Please feel free to give us a call at our number listed below & we'll be happy to go over this with you in proper detail.
