Talking This has GOT to stop or...

...I'm gonna lose my license! So I called TP today and talked to Crystal about my x-cal2. Last week before my Big Bend trip I installed the BFG 285-65-18 AT's and never thought about re-programming. On the way out my speedo was only off .5 to 1 mph when it used to be 3-4 mph fast with stock tires. She said my x-cal (rec'vd late Aug) was user programmable for that and Mike suggested I do it . So I leave work and do it in the parking lot using BFG's figure of 634 revs per mile versus 660 for stock tire. The truck immediately felt much faster and speedo was now within .5 mph with my gps. Long story short I get on the Interstate to come home and up pulls a friend of mine from the Nissan dealer next door in a new Titan 4x2 demo. I thought, not again and here we go from about a 50 mph roll. Big Red slams down into 2nd and we are door handle to door handle to about 85 and I start to pull him! We quit at around 110 on my speedo and I had him by three lengths or more! Take it from an ole motorhead, this is THE most amazing piece of speed equipment I have ever purchased. This truck is an animal now, I have waxed a hemi and a Titan in two days...my life is complete!

Which octane performance tune are you using? I filled up with 93 octane tonight (ouch $74 )and have noticed a substantial difference between 93 and 87 performance tunes. Have you noticed any difference in the shift timings through the tunes you've tested?

I'm on the 93 perf tune now jrack. It is 100% more powerful to me than the 87 perf tune. The shifts feel the same to me really as far as firmness at wide open upshift etc. They actually feel slightly softer to me at normal speeds which I like better. I know DZ, this is crazy right? When this thing slams into 2nd or 3rd at wide open throttle it gives me a woody(can you say that on here?)! Can you see me explaining a 110 in a 65 ticket to my teenage daughter?

I can't wait for SCT to release the new firmware to allow on-device datalogging. Once this firmware is available I will visit a local dyno facility and obtain "no-load" and "load" datalog parameters, as well as, stock vs. custom tune horsepower and torque results. I can't wait.

Hi SAJEFFC,

You've already got a Hemi kill and a Titan kill in just the few days since getting our tuning? Yes, you just might be in danger of getting a serious speeding ticket - the kind where they haul you off in handcuffs!

Be careful out there!!

Well I finally had a chance to open it up on the highway approach this morning and it was absolutely amazing. Actually, it kinda startled me because I wasn't expecting to break traction off the line and between the 1-2 shift. The difference between 93 and 87 is night and day.

Hi jrack,

Glad to hear you're enjoying our 93 octane performance tune - it does make a clear difference, doesn't it?

That is precisely why most of our customers who get a taste of that tune run it all the time - the other tings is, as long as you can keep your foot out of the throttle, that tune also give you the best potential for MPG gains - that is, *if* you can avoid using that additional performance often enough.

Have fun,

I think I have read enough to convince me to go back to the 91 octane performance tune. I went back to 87 because of the gas prices but you guys are having too much fun and I want to come out and play!

are you saying your Xcal was able to recalibrate your speedo? I talked to Crystal today and she said there was a glitch, and he is sending out an older program without that capability. Based upon what you guys are saying, I can't wait to order one, but am going to hold off until that gets worked out.
