Standalone data logging

Mike or anyone else who may have an answer,

When the new firmware update is released by SCT to provide standalone datalogging, will it be able to datalog (record) all the no-load/load parameters (excluding A/F ratio) required for your spreadsheet? Reason that I'm asking is because I don't have access to a laptop and I'd like to complete the datalog spreadsheet. Thanks.

Yes, you can do on-board datalogging when we get the firmware update - but you will not be able to datalog as many parameters simultaneously using only the XCal 2 by itself as compared to the number you will be able to when using a laptop - that will always be the case with any such device, as there is only so much processing power & memory space, as you'd expect.

And no, I do not know exactly how many parameters & how much time you will have available, that is yet to be seen once we actually get that firmware update - then we'll know the answers to that at that time.

FYI, just got word from SCT that the device is capable of dataloging up to 15 parameters simultaneously. Still waiting on SCT to find out how long you will be able to record these 15 parameters.
