ex2 and differant programs
ex2 and differant programs
after you get a ex2 from who ever can you buy differant tunes from a differant tuner to see if other tunes work beter than what you already have?can you have your truck dynoed and put the dynoed program in the ex2 and download that to the trucks computer.computer?
Hi.
Why bother?
If you do your homework and research and select the best tuner in the first place, you won't ever have to go through that process.
In addition, if a subsequent dyno session is desired to tweak the tunes, that same superlative tuner can provide this service as well, or you can use the X2 to datalog your truck, and with that info sent to the tuner, dial it in via an email update.
If you are asking if you want to move the X2 hardware to another vehicle, it needs to be VIN unlocked first and you need to pay for new tunes.
I think you'd be out of luck if you are asking whether or not another tuner can tweak someone else's proprietary tunes - they'd need access to the modifiable version file format of the initial tune to work with - that's not gonna happen - it's protected intellectual property, and rightly so. There may also be technical reasons to further prohibit this from occurring - ask Mike.
Good choice of device, though!
Bottom line - pick the best - forget the rest
Cheers!

Yes you can have any SCT dealer program the device, so your not locked to a cetain tuner. Lets say you sell your F150, and buy a focus, you could have somebody who specializes on focus's send you a tune or do a dynotune.
note, expect to pay for each tune from each vendor, especially if you did not purchase the hardware from them
