? for Mike Troyer

I have a 2005 f-350 powerstroke CC 4x4 auto , and I was thinking of putting a tuner in but I have a few questions.

1. will ford be able to detect that I put a tuner program into the computer even if the program was taken out before taking the truck in for repairs?

2. do you have a chart for hp and tq for the tuner, all I can find on the web are charts that are very vague to read I would like more specifics?

thanks:

1._ Nope - once you're back to stock, that's it, nobody can tell it was flashed, so you don't have to worry about that - good question!.

2.) On this area I'm going to (try) to fill you in on some things and PLEASE don't take this as me trying to be a smart-alek, etc., as it's really not my intention.............. OK? Thanks!

Anyone knows that ALL turbo diesels gain HUGE amounts of power - EVERYONE who owns a diesel and has ever been on the Internet already knows that.

And that nobody who knows anything about diesels buys based on dyno plots - those are the worst mistakes you can make. Nobody who is serious about buying tuning for a diesel is ever going to make that decision based on a dyno plot - there are plenty on the Internet, and virtually none that are actually done on diesel type dynos with EGT's also supplied - therefore, they are virtually meaningless. Hell, most people don't even know that you have to do that on a DIESEL type of chassis dyno to begin with, or that virtually no manufacture does that - they all run them on Dynojets, or other gasoline engine-type chassis dynos, which invalidates the results immediately.

You already know that the gains are well over 100 Hp & 200 lb.ft. of torque on tuning that actually retains safe EGT's - so if that doesn't do it for you, then chances are you won't even buy any proper & safe tuning for that vehicle, my friend.

We do not distribute dyno charts to everyone on the Internet, we stopped doing that many years ago simply because the very first time we do that then everyone else bombards us with nothing but demands for dyno plots - the vast majority of whom know nothing about the different types of dynos or what the EGT's should be, etc. - so we do not do that. We'd have to have a staff of 100 people and another 50,,000 sq. ft. just to store all the various dyno plots w & w/wo EGT's & all the testing variables, etc. for that info to actually be meaningful - and that's not what we do. If you want dyno plots, that will have to come from the manufacture - that is *their* job, not ours.

The way to get a dyno plot fro us is to schedule your vehicle to be brought down here for us to tune it, and we will *then* be happy to provide you with before & after dyno plots - otherwise, that's up to the manufacturer to provide and explain all the other info that makes dyno plots mean anything -

I can only hope & pray that I have managed to explain this in a manner that does NOT make me sound like some kind of jerk, that provides you with some food for thought, and I sincerely with you the very best of luck whatever you decide on this, my friend.

thanks Mike you answered my question's. The reason I asked for dyno plots was that hypertech had a rpm based plot, but I would not trust them. I had a superchips tuner that I bought from you last year for my f-150 and I will be getting another for my powerstroke soon. I will probably call for a package deal as far as exhaust, filter and tuner.

Thanks for the info:

You're more than welcome, & thanks ever so much for your kind response. Whenever you call, ask for me and if I;m not either on another cal, or up to my elbows on another tune, I'll be happy to send some time with you and go over in detail just what I feel you can expect from each various tune on each exact model/model year on the diesels.

Best of luck!
