Odometer correction with 1714

I know the 1714 will correct the speedometer if you install bigger tires but will it also correct the odometer? Im just trying to measure my mileage with my new 18s.

I *think* when the speedo is corrected the odometer is also calibrated to match

You could slow your speedo down and reduce the miles driven if that was the case i guess.

Hi - to actually answer gobra's original question - yes.
The same correction factor is used by the PCM for the speedo and the odo.

Cheers

Yes, any time the speedo is corrected, the odo is corrected as well - just as it should be, so the vehicle registers the basic correct number of miles driven.

One other thing, do you measure the loaded tire diameter or the calculated? I measured the tire to be 31 inches but a tire calculator says 32!! It is the 275 65 18 lariat 4x4 tire.

Which ever gives you the most accurate reading, it's not going to make that much different, due to the compression of the contact patch and the fact that the resolution of those types of tuners is 1/- 1/4 " anyway.

Most people measure them loaded, measure a rear tire from side to side (not top to bottom), and then subtract 1//2" from that amount - and plug that in - that usually gets you in the ballpark.
