Xcal2 2v vs. 3v (performance)
Hey fellas, i have been reading through all of the raving reviews on the troyer xcal2 and i am pretty set on getting one. But then i notcied something, all most all of the reviews i saw were trucks with the 3 valve v8. I have the 2001 f-150 with the 2 valve 5.4 v8. Is it just that i missed something, or does the 3 valve benefit more from this tune then the 2 valve. Any input from xcal2 folks with a 2 valve would be awesome
thanks
thanks
Hi laxwarrior,
The 5.4 3V's benefit a bit more on 87 octane tuning than the 5.4 2V does, but that's about it. Overall, it really doesn't matter whether you have the 5.4 3V on the 5.4 2V, either one is going to see excellent results from our custom tuning.
The main reason you see such rave reviews on the 5.4 3V's is because they are newer, and the largest number of people doing modifications to their vehicles is always those in the current and one previous model year vehicles - so that is what tends to be discussed the most. Just like back in 1995, when it was the 1995 & 1994 vehicles being talked about mostly - and so on. You get my point.
The bottom line is, your 5.4 2V will see excellent results from our Troyer Performance custom tuning, just like everyone else - and if you use the SEARCH feature, you will find plenty of posts from those who have the 5.4 2V and our custom tuning.

Hello Daves F-150,
To get your price, all you need to do is simply call us at our number listed below.
You do NOT need to speak with me personally, nor are you likely to reach me personally most of the them anyway, as I run the company and thus have to do all the things that company owners do - so I just can't take every call from everyone who wants to "talk to Mike," because *everyone* wants to "talk to Mike" - and if we allowed that, then I'd never get anything done, I'm afraid!
Now if I happen to be here and am able to pick up a particular phone call, I'm happy to do that - but don't count on that happening, as like any busy company owner my job is to run the company - not take every one of the hundreds of phone calls we get here every day, even though there are few things I like better than talking directly to all of you!
So for that pricing or any other info, you can speak to anyone one our staff and they will be happy to help you - all you need to do is to give them your F-150 Online screen name & they will go over a few other things with you, and then give you your special price for those who are actually registered members of F-150 Online like you are, just for example.
Last - we cannot discuss any specific parts pricing here on these boards, that's against the rules of F-150 Online - so for specific pricing on our parts, you will need to contact us privately by phone, & thanks very much for your understanding on that - it's greatly appreciated!
I hope that info help you a bit, thanks for your post & we hope to speak with you soon!
