I gotta tell ya.....

Mike Troyer is the man. He called me on a late last Sunday confirming my tune selections! I can tell he works hard for all of us to get our tunes in a timely fashion. I'm hooked to Troyer Performance for life! My tunes are coming tomorrow, and I CAN'T WAIT!! Thanks Mike for superior customer service. I can't think of ANY other vendor who would call a customer on a Sunday evening verifying his/her order. Unreal.

Mike does give GREAT service! He's returned calls on Saturdays before when I was having trouble.

Can't wait to recover from my recent expenses so I can get a programmer from him for the new truck.

I second that! And Mike doesn't just help out with tuners. Several years ago I was having trouble installing an E-Fan kit that I ordered from him. He talked with me for a while on the phone and helped out a LOT!!!

I'm ready to go ballz out with the 93, but I still have a half tank of 87, so I will start with the 87 perf. Besides, this will give me a read on the jump from 87 perf to 93 perf. How are your tunes doing so far? Is your truck rippin it up?

man it was awsome, I started right from the start with 93 max. I put on my imco single chamb. si/do and I lost a bit of torque low end. Its still awsome but now I am trying to figure out how to pick it up again, thinking 4.10's or E-fans or pullies. I got another thread in the engines section @ the top of the page to see what everyone thinks, I'm gonna call troyer too to see what to do.

Good deal man. 4.10's and fans would be sweet. I have intake next on my list.

I fear the intake on a 4.6 cause it just seems like it really isn't worth it to me being exposed to the heat of the engine, unless its the 5.4 I think they are a rip off. Thats just my .02 cents.

But if you go that route let me know cause I could be wrong.

Hi FX4&Excursion (and everyone else!),

Thanks very much for all your kudo's, they are greatly appreciated - in FX4's case, I really wanted to get his tunes done before I snagged a flight out, and needed to confirm his program selection - we were able to hook up some time later last Sunday, got them done & on their way. Hope you enjoy them!

For noname05 - glad you're enjoying the tuning! Just FYI so you'll know - *never* assume that a properly designed intake kit is not worthwhile, or think that just because an air filter element is "open" design that there is no benefit, etc - all of that is dead wrong, trust me. We have done a tremendous amount of testing to identify actual inlet air temperatures with virtually every type of intake design on the market for these trucks compared to the stock intake, and actual air intake tract design work for these trucks, and I can tell you it doesn't matter whether it's for a 4.2 V6, 4.6 or 5.4 V8, etc., it's very much worthwhile with the best intake kits.

On the exhaust side of things, I knew you would lose torque with that exhaust - virtually all cat-backs causes that due to a lack of flow engineering to pick back up the exhaust gas velocity that is lost with the increase tubing diameter and most of the muffler designs seen - this is why we strictly recommend Magnaflow for these vehicles, as they are the only exhaust manufacturer for thee trucks that we have seen really doing the job consistently on part-throttle torque, and torque below about 3000 rpm at *any* throttle position - and their peak HP gains are excellent as well. This is another area where we have done a lot of work, and there are indeed a number of ways to pick that torque back up -

Just give us a call & we'll be happy to help you out on that, there are several things you can do to help that scenario.
