Datalog Question
Datalog Question
While anxiously waiting for my Troyer XCAL 2 I thought I get a couple questions cleared up. Is it possible to datalog without having a laptop? I guess what I'm really asking is whether it is possible for the datalog information to be stored on the XCAL 2 and then dowloaded to a PC? Thanks.
Thanks
. I guess that's what this direct SCT quote addresses:
Mike, any idea what support we will need from you in order to obtain the standalone datalog parameters?

1.) Standalone data logging. With this update, you will be able to view and record real time PID and DMR data from your vehicle. You can then download the recorded data and play it back in livelink.

No, there is nothing you can buy from us that will allow you to "datalog" without having a computer - but thanks for asking, that was very kind of you.
The XCalibrator 2 does not take the place of a PC or a laptop, nor does the manufacture claim that. When you get your XCal 2, carefully read your XCalibrator 2 & Troyer Performance documentation, as both will make it *very* clear exactly what is required, and the future update for the firmware that will allow a certain amount of "standalone" datalogging (which you will still have to download to a PC), etc., etc. You'll see there's plenty of solid info there on this for you, as we know people need to know all the details about that.
Great idea to start getting prepared & ask the info in advance - good for you, & thanks for your post!
