I have one of the three defective units Mike talked about.

A couple of observations.

First, it isn't a misaligned keypad sticker. The down arrow key used to scroll down the menu is aligned directly below the down arrow symbol. I can both hear and feel the click when depressing the key... but nothing happens. If I had heard about the quick fix before talking to Mike, I would not have tried it. It is inconsistent with the problem I am having.

Second, Mike called me back promptly, provided a solution that I am happy with and spent a generous amount of time explaining to me some of the details regarding his tunes.

So far this is hands down the best response I've ever received from a vendor regarding a defective device issue.

You get what you pay for. I paid a little extra to get an Xcal2 plus Troyer service. I can just imagine the situation I'd be in right now if I had received a defective Xcal2 from an ebay vendor.
