Talking Are Hypertech Programmer Worth The Money?

Hello. I just got my license and I want to try to make my truck as powerful as my dad's Corvette. I have a 1998 F-150 XLT. So, are the Hypertech programmers worth the money?

First...your going to need much more than a chip/programer to achieve your goal, "as powerful as my dad's Corvette". Unless were talking about towing a load...you got him beat there.

Hypertech would not be in my top 10 choices for performance gains. Numero Uno would be a SuperChips Xcal 2 tuned by Mike Troyer. Three custom tunes for under $500 is the BEST bang for the buck for the F150.

Definitely the XCal2 loaded with custom tunes by Troyer Performance is the best, no exceptions!

Hi ECG,

We CAN make that truck just as powerful as your Dad's Corvette, but you;re going to need several obs (or a big lottery win) to afford it.

there is NO type of tuning that is ever going to get you into the league of the slowest Corvette ever made.

But first, start with our Troyer Performance custom tuning, as that gets you the best bang for the buck.

Then next do our intake kit, and then do our cat-back exhaust system - at that point, you have our stage 1 kit.

In fact, take a look at our web site and look at all of our various Stage kits, in the "Performance Packages" section down at the bottom left - click on the area for "F-150's /Expeditions" and that will show you all of our Stage 1 thru Stage 5 (supercharged) applications, to give you an idea of what it takes to gain real power and what it costs.

And of course, if you want to give us a call, we can go over all of that with you in more detail so you'll have a proper understanding of everything - and if you think it might be appropriate, we can also speak with your father as well - thats' just an offer mind you, in case both of you might want to work together on this - not meaning to say you need your Dad to be involved, just trying to help, OK?.

Whatever you do, DON'T"T STREET RACE & BE SAFE!

Good luck, my friend!
