Hopefully not a dumb question
Hopefully not a dumb question
and I haven't seen this asked before.
Right now I'm programmed for 87 towing program with the super chips programmer. A few months ago I changed the tire height in the computer after I went to a slightly taller tire. Now that gas prices have leveled off somewhat I want to try the towing-performance program with 93 octane gas. When I go to the 93 program will I have to program the tire height again or will the programmer not change that number (I forgot to write it down)?
Thanks,
Russ

Hi Russ,
Not a dumb question at all -
With some F-150 computer codes/revisions, the tire height will remain when you change between the 3 various tunes in a "MAX" series Micro Tuner (#1715) - but not always. Just experiment with that and see what happens, of course, in your individual vehicle.
Also, remember that you can go to the tire manufacturer's web site, and look up the exact tire - it's exact model name as well as the size, and they will usually give you the exact specs on that individual tire - the number of revs per mile, and the tire height - so you can get that info any time if you forget it. Now if that particular tire mfg's web site does not have that info, you can simply call them and talk to someone in tech and get that info. then write it down and keep it in the glove box, or on a sticker on the Micro Tuner, etc.
Good luck!
