Also a new Xcal Owner.

I'm also the owner of a new Xcal. I didn't get it from Troyer, but only because a friend of mine is a dealer in town and Dyno's my truck.

All I can say is W O W ! !

Throttle Lag: GONE! Feels like my foot is the gas pedal.
Granny Shifting: GONE! She chirps the tires going into 2nd, and throws me into the seat!
Speed Limiter: GONE! (I Haven't actually tested this one out and don't recommend it, but while on the dyno, she was at 122MPH, when stock was limited to 104MPH.)

I couldn't believe how fast this 3 ton beast was moving.

Anyway, Like many people here, I HIGHLY recommend the Xcal. I think I'll be buying a custom intake here soon to get rid of the coffee mixer straw she's been breathing through.

your bud in Vegas,
Brandon

Can't wait till mine arrives! Did you dyno before and after the install? What was the difference in HP? Is the difference between stock and Xcal that dramatic?

Actually we didn't Dyno the truck before we installed the tune, there was a paying customer before me, and well... I didn't pay a dime for the dyno.

We did however Dyno after we installed the tune. just to see what I was working with.

I do plan to return everything to stock, dyno, then re-tune with the Xcal.

I know I did things **** backwards but, you know... I just wanted the extra kick.

So, numerically, I wouldn't know how dramatic things have changed, but the stiff shifting and quick acceleration seem to do the talking.

All I can say is have fun!

actual numbers are 237HP and 303 Ft lbs torque.

It's going back on the dyno on thursday with the stock setting. So I can see what the before numbers are. Then after that, We'll change it back to the current tune.

anyone know why Ford rates the trucks at 300hp and 365 ft lbs torque?

hp is rated at the flywheel from the factory. Dyno numbers are taken at the rear wheel. There’s up to a 25% loss in hp from the flywheel to the rear wheels because of the drive train.

yah thats what I was thinking.

I'm curious to see what the before numbers are. Probably pretty dissapointing. I'll try to think positive and just stick to the fact that it has more power now with the chip than stock.

Vegas04FX4, time to upgrade that old Xcalibrator to the new Xcalibrator 2 . In case you didn't here, it was released today. Hopefully the upgrade price is reasonable, especially because you just got yours. Glad to here it makes a dramatic improvement. I'm going to order as soon as TP gets it available.
