superchips or predator?
Let me also add that if I do purchase the Xcalibrator2 it will be from Mike. I can guarantee you that I will be doing some data logging with it to give to Mike so that he could provide me with a nice safe performance tune for my “specific” truck.
Now, he may indeed provide a tune to begin with, but if I want to get everything I can get from my truck AND remain safe I bet he will ask me to data log and send that information and then I will have a truly “custom” tuned truck…

You Know, I was tempted just to ignore those asinine claims & insults posted by Mr MonteCarlo (and a couple others)..
NOBODY has the amount of performance tuning R&D that we have in the F-150 platform (other than Ford). We've been tuning them longer and far more of them, than any other single aftermarket tuner. Many of them come to us for help on these vehicles, including major chipmakers to help develop *their* applications for this platform. We don't just send out some "so-so" tune, that is an absolute lie. This individual obviously has never even seen what we send to our custom tuning customers, such as the extremely thoroughly datalogging instructions we provide for that data or any of the other many ways in which we handle our tuning so that each vehicle gets a dynamite tune that provides maximum *safe & sustainable* performance. To say nothing of his absolutely beyond-ignorant claim that "13 years all he can tune is F-150's" - obviously this clown doesn't have a clue what is required to properly & consistently tune this platform with it's hundreds of different strategies each model year (that no other vehicle has), or why many other tuners & chipmakers come to us for our assistance on this platform - to say nothing of the fact that we tune far more than "just F-150's."
For example, we do much testing to determine things like if there is any significant variance in cylinder pressure in these modular motors from the factory from one engine to the next - something we don't see any other "tuner" doing for this platform. Just that alone we do that several times a year, where we will take a number of seemingly identical trucks with each different engine offered and do everything from compression checks, determine stock power levels, do driveline drag-down tests, track tests with complete mobile datalogging, and many other types of testing I'm not going to get into here (as I'm not here to teach how to actually do proper vehicle development), etc., etc. Time after time.
Many "tooners" don't have a clue that what happens on a dyno (most of which are nothing more than inertia dynos to begin with, and most don't even understand why that is a problem) has in many cases little to do with what the engine & PCM will deliver on these trucks & SUV's when they are actually operated at the track on on the road - things that a Dynojet with it's static 3600 lb load cannot begin to show, which is why when we do our development work, in our sessions that typically involves numerous examples of bone-stock and highly modified vehicles, along with multiple Superflow dyno's, a couple of Mustang dynos, and then usually a Dynojet thrown in at the end just to see the difference. The fact is, we generally do more R&D than many of the chipmakers do for each new model year on this specific platform, and repeat all of that numerous times throughout the year - every year. Guess what? You can't be world-class on hundreds (let alone thousands) of different applications - if you want to be world-class, you have to specialize, something that obviously is not understood by some.
Dyno's aside, the stupidity required to assume some of what has been stated in this thread by that individual says nothing of all the many vehicles that come here for us to datalog at the shop, at the track and in the real world, or the hundreds of our custom tuning customers that provide the data as we instruct to us each and every month as we require. The bottom line is, anyone who would make the asinine claims that we were sending out "so-so" tunes is not only full of crappola, but also doesn't have the first bit of actual platform knowledge of this vehicle, and certainly has no knowledge of how we do our work, nor of the results.
In short - he doesn't have the first clue what he's taking about, and it shows in his complete lack of manners as well. It takes a real idiot to come *here* of all places, and attack us as he has done repeatedly in his posts - par for the course with that type of individual, and only an idiot would listen.
I'm not going to waste my time getting into some stupid pissing contest with someone who doesn't have the first clue what we do or how we do it - and I rather doubt there will be anyone here (at least, anyone with a brain) who is going to fall for that, either.
In short - much of what I have seen posted in this thread is dead wrong - and it's beneath ALL of us (well, maybe with 1 obvious exception) to even engage in this kind of "discussion" - so let's knock off the nonsense, and get back to the calm, considerate & professional atmosphere this section is well known for - start treating each other with respect again instead of just waiting to pounce on anything someone might not agree with or have a different perspective on in each post. That kind of conduct serves *nobody* except the individual making the asinine derogatory claims about us - and I think everyone else in this thread is smarter than that.

ahhh...I love it, people here are so defensive when someone roams into their area. Mike, I have never heard of you, I even asked around to several other mod motor guys in the tampa area, see cars running over 700 RWHP and your name drew blank stares. I'm not saying your product sucks like you seem to insist, I am stating as you just did, that you tune your vehicles per a wide range of variable, which is common, but when someone wants the most out of their ride, they use a great ammount of data logging, create a tune, log more, create another better tune and so on. I never said your product was "junk" I stated just what you did, your tune is set up for a wide variety of trucks across the board. I'm in no way sorry for what I said and in no way made false statment. Does your tuner allow for someone to use data logging to create their own custom tune without sending the unit to you? Does your Unit allow for real time data logging?
Thank you
Thank you
boy i didnt mean to get this tipe of responces. mike is right lets settle down. from what i can tell is that they both will do the same things pretty much but the x has 3 custom tunes right? if i get one but dont have other modes on a the moment will i have to get it retuned or can it be done by me eaither by some adj. or downloads. keep it good and let the responces coming

You are not making any sense ??? Just because you have cars making 700 RWHP you guys know everything. LOL its the guys who get down and dirty and learns to tune these vehicles, it does not take a GENUS to build a motor. I was building motors with my dad at 13 producing 450 RWHP in our garage. It takes a genus to DIVE into the BRAINS of a vehicle to make it produce more HP like mike does.
Data logging is essential.

Wow, I can't add anything to this!

Obviously you cant !!! You can only take what someone else has wrote and add your -2 cents that dont mean anything. If you have something to say then say it. If you dont like my terminology then your chit out of luck !!!

Looks like you just joined and have 2 post " these 2 meaningless post above mine " Boy I wonder who you are ??? LOL LOL LOL
