Troyer Performance vs Superchip
Troyer Performance vs Superchip
Which should I go with. I got 35 x 12.5 x 18 tires on,4:56 gears put in , 3" Maganflow Catback installed and Airaid Airflow sytem in. It is now time to program. Hypertech is out and it it down to Troyer's programed x caliber vs Superchip. Which is easier to install, update programer, better truck performance and support. Money isn't the issue. It is all about my truck running at it's top performance......

Hi Wife'sF150,
If what you are after is the best performance, then yes, you'll want to go with our custom tuning - hands down.
The Superchips "standard" performance tuning in say, the 1714 Micro Tuner for the 2004's or the 1715 for the 1996-2003's is certainly fine and will do a great job - so if you go that route, no doubt you'll be happy.
But if you want the absolute *best* performance results, then that is had with our Troyer Performance in-depth custom tuning, as we get significantly better power & performance gains.
If you'd like to go over the difference in detail, just give us a call at our number listed below, & best of luck whatever you decide!

I have built and rebuilt my off road jeep so I know what happens when you start with the mods. All sanity goes out the door....
But when I am done my wife will have the hottest "Grocery Getter" in the neighborhood....
Easy answer...
The custom tune from Troyer...
I am a mechanical, electrical and software engineer. I have oened my onw business for a long time. My work has made me very synical by nature. I do not easly believe claims made by vendors ( burned way to many times ).
So, when I wanted to try a tune for my truck and add a few more goodies, I started reading this board and a few others....
It became clear that almost all of the people who posted on this board were happy with Mr Toryer's work. I also liked that fact that decent was allowed to stay in place on this form, and Mike offered reasonable explinations to the people and offered to help if he could. ( some time the answer has to be NO and some people cannot accept that... )
The thing that convienced me to buy one of his kits was that he actuall went ( as evidence above ) on an public open form and post directly to his customers and potential customers...
Believe me it takes confidence to open your business up to public debate on an open form...
I bought the stage one kit with the 1715 programmer. After a few chats with some people on this board and with Mike I sent the 1715 back ( did not even take it out of the box ) and got the custom tune with the xcalibrator as the delivery method.
First of all, I think that xcalibrator is easer to load....
Second, I was plesently suprized at the results. I expected better throttle responce and better shifting patterns, but I did not expect the dramatic rise in hp and torque. I have not dynoed the truck, but I would have to guess based on the improved 0-60 times that the truck is making between 40-50 more hp and certianly more torque.
The proof of extra hp and torque is simple:
After installing the intake and exhaust, the truck would not spin the tires on dry pavemet ( limited slip differential and fairly wide tires) Now, it will lay to nice black marks with only a little power breaking necessary to break them loose......
I also like the idea that If I do not like somthing about the tune, all I have to do is make one phone call and ask for a mod. Not quite so easy with the superchip tune....
Sorry to be so long winded, but I do like my new toys....
