Sct For 02screw

I picked up a tuner for the wifes 02. Very impressed thus far with the gains via seat of the pants feel. We drove back from TX this weekend and I left the tune on performance and we netted 16mpg running 80mph with the A/C blowin. Is this about accurate for this truck. She has the magnaflow duals and AF1 filter. Other than that its stock

16 mpg cruising at 80 mph with the A/C on is an *excellent* result, generally speaking.

What kind of mpg to expect or be able to compare to other F-150's really requires more info - like the exact configuration of the vehicle, it's body style & bed length, what gear ratio, which tires and what size they are, 2WD or 4WD, is there any tonneau cover, tailgate up or down, etc., as all of those things (and more) affect the vehicle weight dramatically, as well as things like wind resistance (4WD's are higher & have much higher wind resistance), etc. So it's not really possible to make particularly accurate "comparisons" to other F-150's just based on the info in your post, simply because of all the different possible F-150 configurations that affect vehicle weight, aero drag & torque multiplication, all of which have a significant impact on MPG - but I can tell you that in general, getting 16 mpg cruising at 80 mph with the A/C on is nothing short of excellent for *any* F-150 configuration!

Thanks Mike
Your wife is a hoot to speak to by the way. The wifes truck has a LEER cover over the back and its a Super Crew with 17 rims and stock size tires. I bought my SCT from you as well for my 04 PSD and wow what a difference in just the economy tune. I havent even tried the other tunes yet. Good Stuff
Thx again

Hi Force,

You're very welcome, & thank you for your business!

If you had us do a custom tune for your wife's 02 (and please forgive me, as I usually can't remember who we tuned by their screen name here!), that helps to explain why it's getting such good mpg. The way we set up the load tables does tend to lower the BSFC, and with good quality fuel being used, that generally helps the MPG - usually people get their best MPG on our custom "performance" tunes.

Thanks again for your post, & glad you're enjoying our tuning!
