The Chips and Tuners are well worth the money spent!!!! I haven't had mine tuned very long and it don't take long to see what a big difference it will make. I have the 1715 and with your tires you might want to give Mike T a call. I'll bet he will tell you to custom tune your truck. The 1715 gives me all I need and they are saying on here the 9300 X gains a lot more. Don't worry about wasting your money. I won't Happen
Troyer Performance will get it done RIGHT! Good Luck

Right now, the Xcalibrator (9300) is the best custom programmer available. It will work on your truck (97 F150) and if you decide to get a new truck, 04 & up, it will also work because it’s CAN compatible. Call Troyer Performance; Mike will give you the details your looking for.

Hi egor,
Spend a few minutes reading here and you'll quickly find that yes, *our* custom tuning is well worth the money - all the info you could possibly want on that topic is already posted here if you'd like to spend some time reading what other owners who have spent their hard-earned money for our tuning have to say about it. It's always nice to see what fellow vehicle owners have to say about their results
It's also a matter of just what you're expecting - for example, there is no tuning that is ever going to give you the kind of result that having a supercharged engine will give - of course not. You're never going to see a 100 HP gain from tuning alone on a normally aspirated gasoline engine.
However, our custom tuning *is* the single best bang-for-the-buck performance enhancement you can make to that vehicle, as nothing else for the same or less cost will deliver as much power & performance gain. Now that doesn't mean it's going to add 100 HP, it's not - it simply means that it's the best place to start, as nothing else for the same or less cost will equal the results of our custom tuning for these trucks. On the 5.4 motors, we can easily gain 30+ HP & 40+ lbs./ft. of torque at the rear wheels, for example, in our performance tunes (4.6's gain a little bit less as they're smaller).
Please feel free to spend some time reading the posts here - and you can also give us a call at our number listed below to go over all this in more detail, so you can get a good feel for just what you can realistically expect from proper tuning for your truck before you take the plunge, so to speak - we're happy to help!
Good luck & hope to speak with you,

Hi JPTEX,
We generally average about 50% more power/performance improvement in our custom tuning maximum performance tunes versus what you get in the 1715 in the 1997-2003 (and 2004 Heritage models) non-Lightning F-150's, just to give you a rough idea on average - a few see a bit more or less. But in any case, *all* vehicles get more power and performance form our custom tuning compared to any "standard" performance tuning product, and it's enough to be worthwhile.
I'd really have to know your vehicle's computer code to give you more exact details on things going on in your specific vehicle's PCM, as there can be significant differences between various different codes even on the exact same vehicle make, model year & configuration. We may see things that might reduce that difference a little bit, or that may well mean we can get an even better result, it just depends on your vehicle's specific PCM revision.
If you like, you can look up posts from other F-150 Online members like "watsonr," who used both the 1715 and our custom tuning on his truck, and also Phil Kanarkowski (I hope I spelled that right) - Phil's F-150 Online screen name is (I think) openclasspro#11 (I know it's "openclasspro" but I can't remember for sure what number is behind the "openclasspro" part). At any rate, those are just a couple of F-150 Online members who have used both the 1715 and our custom tuning on their same truck, and have posted their results & impressions on the difference.
As always, of course feel free to give us a call to go over this in more detail, & we'll go over this so yo can decide if you feel it's worth while for you to make that switch.
