towing with 1715 programmer

i was wondering if you can tow anything with the performance setting on the superchips 1715 programmer?? is ther atleast a max trailer weight you must not exceed? or are you not suppose to put any kind of load on the truck when its programmed with the performance mode?

You gotta be kidding

Read the past posts, you tow in the tow mode only. Up to the manufactures recommended tow capacities only.

The 1715's documentation tells you in it's manual what program to use for what.

No, you CANNOT tow on the "performance" tune in the 1715. If you want to tow, you have to use the towing program.

In the "performance" tune, you can still put the **on-board** weight ratings in the vehicle - like if you had to haul something in the bed that is within the bed load limits, for example, you can do that on the performance tune - or if you had a few passengers & some luggage, etc., you can still do that on the performance tuning. It's just that you can't *tow* with it in the performance tune, it's designed to support the vehicle up to it's on-board weight limitations without the ability to tow. Then you use the towing program for towing, and that gives you the ability to tow loads all the way up to the automaker's tow rating limit for your individual truck's specific configuration.

Hope that info helps,
