Question Diablo Predator Tuner

Has anyone had any experience with the new Diablo Predator tuners?
They have a few features not found on the Superchips tuner that I like, but I don't know if their performance otherwise is as good...

Never used a Superchips tuner but I bought a Diablo about a month after buying my truck last October. It has worked flawlessly and I'm very pleased with the improvements in performance and shifting. I recently updated it through my computer to the latest version (7R52J instead of 7R52C) but can't tell any difference between the two versions. I had a little difficulty getting the update loaded but Diablo's customer service was able to help me get it done.

I have absolutely no complaints whatsoever about the Diablo tuner.

If you want the best programmer that will give you the most hp & torque gain, get the Xcalibrator from Troyer Performance. Why Troyer Performance? Because Mike specializes in the F150 platform and you will get custom in-depth tunes that will be specifically tailored to your trucks PCM code and your personal driving needs.

Thanks guys. I failed to mention a few parameters:
- I do not want to use premium fuel - regular is expensive enough these days
- I don't care about removing the speed limiter, since I don't race my truck and can't afford the tickets

What I'm trying to achieve is,
- the best performance I can get with regular fuel for everyday driving (city & highway)
- better shift patterns
- better throttle response
- fuel savings (that would be a bonus)
Finally, I'm trying to keep it as affordable as possible, otherwise the Chief Financial Officer (wife) won't approve the funding - I'm sure I'm not the only one with that restriction around here...

Both the Predator and 1714 should be able to handle those items. Both tuners are very similar and prices are the same as well. I like the fact that I can clear codes with a button click without having to disconnect the battery and reset everything.

I see both are on sale for $350 right now. Custom tuning might be nice, but these are dead-nuts reliable with 95% of the benefits at half the cost.

Custom tuning (9300) is only 20% $$$ more and you get 50% more hp & torque

JP-
You're right. I looked and Troyer has the Excalibrator for $425. The way he always gets so wordy when asked about it, I thought it was like $700 or something. My bad.

Mike Troyer's products and sevices are very reasonably priced. And very importantly he ahs the knowledge to sell parts that work with each other and not against each other. You can always add things as budget alows, and Mike always treats you great. It doesn't matter if you are spending a lot or a little he gives each customer the same one on one attention. Excuse me I always talh about Mike but Anita Is also the greatest!!!! She is very knowledgable and helpful wit all of their products, just a joy to talk to these people.
