Question Xcallibrator and 4.2L V6

I've posed this question over on the '04-05 forum as well as on the V6 forum and haven't really gotten much response. My question is for the new body style F-150's I know the Xcallibrator is compatable with the 4.2L V6, but who writes tunes for these, and have they significantly improved performance. So far all I've heard about is a guy at Velocity Mustang Performance, nothing about Troyer Performance. Doesn't Troyers' write tunes for V6's? Any help here would be appreciated!

Justin@VMP knows what he is doing. He worked for SCT, and drives a 400rwhp TT 3.8 v6 mustang. He knows our engine well.

Hi 05arrived,

Yes, of course we tune the 4.2 V6 F-150's, too - we've custom-tuned more of these F-150's with *every* available engine than anyone else (other than Ford themselves, of course), by far.

So yes, we can easily take care of that for you - just give us a call at our number listed below.

SCT has tuned tens of thousands of Ford Vehicles, including thousands of F150s. They make those base tunes available to all of their dealers.

I thought about this post for a few days, and decided that, in fact, it does need someone to respond to it.
Justin, did you know that Mike Troyer has been tuning 04 f150s since before SCT even had a device on the market to do it with? Or have you even read some of the posts concerning the tuning he does. Some of the trucks(eg. Neil the hp freak) Troyer tunes require a little more than "Base Tunes."
While Troyer sells SCT products that have tunes direct from them, His custom tuning has to be a whole lot more for to keep his customers happy.
Please get the facts before you try to minimize what someone else does for a living!!!Kevin

Hi Kevhunt, while you may think that you have the optimal point of view, you don't.

Yes I know Troyer has been providing tuning for the 04 F150s since Dec 03, before anyone had a flasher. This does not change the fact that all of these tunes originated from SCT, and are available to any SCT dealer. While I respect that Troyer has his own specific custom tunes (I do the same in that regard), the same technology is available to hundreds of other SCT dealers.

You know, we were going to ignore this - but enough is enough, and we're not going to allow anyone to misrepresent what we do or attempt to make light of our many years of tuning R&D on this platform, which started LONG before SCT even existed.

For the record............ (and first, thanks to "kevhunt" for trying to point out the truth as he saw it.)

1.) NOBODY else provides us with, or has access to, our custom tuning. Period.

2.) Any claim that our tunes "originate from SCT" are absolutely FALSE, and you will NOT see anyone at SCT make such a claim, for 1 simple reason - it's not true. Claiming that our tunes "originate from SCT" is like saying that because SCT uses Microsoft Access to make their databases those databases "originate" from Microsoft. Nobody with a brain would ever make such a claim.

And by the way - there are plenty of competing products on the market we can and have used for custom tuning long before SCT ever came alone with their ***applications software***.

I suppose that because Arthur C Clarke used a word processor on his Kaypro computer that his novels "originated" from whoever provided that word processor to Kaypro.........not.

4.) Just in case this wasn't clear before, nobody else has a hand in or access to our custom tuning, and any claims to the contrary are absolutely FALSE.
