Hi Phil,

That's very kind of you, thanks.

Speaking of which, I didn't have time to talk with you about this before I sent off the new tunes, but I have an idea of something I think will provide even more power gain for your van that I'd like to talk with you about at some point.

If you get a chance in the next week or two, give me a call and I'll go over it with you. I thought about it in looking at your premium gas towing program - it's something that we've been doing for quite some time in the F-150's, and I think that will work correctly in that series of van you have, too. If so, it will get you even a bit more power over what you're getting right now - not just more *peak* horsepower, but more importantly, more torque all the time, at any throttle position or rpm. That would be perfect for that towing tune, for example. I feel certain it will work fine since you use good quality fuel, so if you'd like, we can give that a try and see how your van likes it - and if so, it should even help the fuel mileage a little bit more, too. The F-series trucks love it.

Just a thought since you now have the email update capablity...............

Hi Phil,

Thanks for calling, always fun to talk with you.

Give me a few days & I'll get that new program out for you to give it a try next time you decide to do some towing on 93 octane in that van as soon as I can............

mike

i swapped over files from the disc to the tuner then installed the 93 into my van[never ran the original 93 tune] -only 87 & 89- wow the 93 is awesome on those new files- could you make reverse engagement timeas fast as you feel is best?i hate that ford delay- by the way-the email downloading into the tuner is the dog's bollocks! -thanks again-phil

update

update-58 miles on the 93 tow tune- you'd never know this a 7000lb + vehicle
i know this sounds rediculous but line it up against my buddy's 04 van-same setup probably a little more weight in it-walked away from him so bad 0- when i shifted into 3rd at WOT @80mph

Hi Phil,

Glad you're enjoying those changes.

It'll be probably a week or so before I can get those other additional changes done we spoke about on your next new 93 octane towing tune. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised all over again, heh-heh......... just give me a little time on that.

Hey Mike,

Just trying to catch you in a recent enough thread!!!

I have been talking to Anita about getting a custom SCT 6600 tune for my ride (1998 2wd 4.6L Ext/cab 3.73 gears). I currently have a self modified intake (remove the bell, and add K&N, then remove silencer tube) hey I don't have that much money, and I am saving for the tune. I also have a Flowmaster 40 with 3" tailpipe.

Now, I have seen a few good prices on shorty headers (not the JBA I just can;t float that right now) and was wondering if I got those before or after the Chip. Would it be ok to get tuned first, then ad the headers, will that affect how you do your tune?

I would rather get the chip and worry about the headers later, but if it makes a difference, then I wll have to figure something out.

Buy the way, I agree....Your customer service is outstanding!!!!!!

Thanks,

Mike

P.S. I wonder if i could get a TROYER PERFORMANCE sticker along with my SCT 6600 to show off??

Hi mwkatm,

First, on the shorty headers - FORGET buying a cheaper header, they warp & crack over time, and that is NOT what you ever want in a header - buy *only* top quality, and use locking header bolts, too. If that means it has to wait for months, then wait for months, don't be in an hurry to get something cheap, as that will only cause problems later on - trust me, we've been all through that.

Second - our custom tuning is going to do *far* more for the performance of that vehicle than any header ever could. Headers are fine, don't get me wrong - but they come much further down on the "bang for the buck" list than tuning, intake, cat-back exhaust, electric fans, underdrive pulleys, etc., etc. So wait on the headers, do our custom tuning first.

And yes, the Troyer Performance stickers are being worked on, and as soon as they're ready we'll be more than happy to supply that to you along with the chip, no problem!

There is one option that might help you get into our custom tuning a bit quicker, and that is if you have us do less than the full 4 custom tunes on that 4-program chip. For example, we could do say, a couple of tunes and that would cost you a bit less than having us to all 4 tunes - just give us a call & we can go over that with you, if that might be helpful to you, it's just a thought.

Talk to you soon,
