Xlt 7700
Xlt 7700
I have a 2001 XLT 7700 series F150 supercab. I'm about to get a full tune-up from bumper to bumper done to it. I have my exhaust dueled out with 2 and 1/4 inch pipes straight out the back. I would like to add a cold air intake and maybe a powerchip to it. With the powerchip what exactly has to be done? What would be a good brand? What does this exactly do? This 7700 rocks and I don't want to mess it up since not mant people have them. It has the 5.4 V8 with a huge transmission and rear end. So anyone with advice please let me know.Peace

HI leethal,
You're absolutely right, with the 7700# payload package you get the 4R100 transmission, 6-lug wheels & some other aspects that other F-150's don't get. It's also even heavier than all the other F-150's too - so it needs all the help it can get power-wise.
What will get you the best actual results (in terms of you asking about a "powerchip") is to go with our in-depth *custom* tuning for these trucks. "jpdadeo" posted a link to our web site for one of the products we can provide our custom tuning to you in, and there is another one as well, our Part# 9100 - you can read all about all of that on our web site, which you can get to by navigating around a bit from the link in the last post.
We've specialized in the performance of these vehicles and their custom tuning for longer than anyone else, so F-150 owners who want the best come to us - please take some time and read some of the many posts from customers of ours who have posted their results & impressions here, you'll find that virtually all of them rave about the results.
Please also feel free to give us a call to go over all of this in more detail, as there are a lot of things you would benefit from knowing about these vehicles in terms of not only improving their performance, but how to get the best service life from them, etc. Our number is listed just below for your convenience.
With regards to what a "powerchip" does, it's a replacement program for the vehicle's PCM to increase horsepower and torque all the time, at any throttle position or rpm - now there are *many* different brands out there, but what will get you the very best results is our custom tuning. We also improve the shift characteristics of the automatic transmission, improve driveability, towing capability, etc. In other words, we optimize all relevant aspects of your PCM's programming, to give your vehicle more capability without one as well, our Part# 9100 - you can read all about all of that on our web site, which you can get to by navigating around a bit from the link in the last post.

Rather than blow my own horn, take your time & read some of the many posts here, and don't hesitate to call us to go over all of this - we handle everything in the way of performance for these trucks, from intakes to exhaust, to tuning to superchargers to race-built engines to you name it - that's what we do.
Thanks for your post - glad you dropped by & best of luck with your truck whatever you decide!
