Question "Quicktune 2005"

Does anyone know when Quicktune 2005 will be available for download?

“Our new SCT Quickune 2005 software now allows you to custom tune your own vehicle! Create up to 4 custom tunes at once on your Windows based PC or load and tweak a custom tune from a participating Superchips Custom Tuning Network Dealer. Quicktune’s easy to use software screens allow you to easily build your own custom tuned file. Just select your vehicle modifications from our large list of aftermarket modifications and Quicktune does the rest…”

Thumbs up Neat stuff

Looks pretty good to me. I e-mailed SCT and Troyer this am. I will await any news and post here asap. Looks like SCT is shipping Quicktune with each Xcalibrator too.

jpdadeo, thanks for the heads up man! Your on the ball.

Quicktune 2005

I order my Xcalibrator yesterday and asked Crystal at Troyer about it and she didnot give me the impressoin she or they were happy about it. kind of like if you dont know what you are doing dont do it. Maybe we were talking about diff. things

but she was very helpful and i will buy from them again!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone and have a safe one

P.S. I downloaded the software last week looks like it will not work without the Xcalibrator pluged in!!

I'm sure Troyer would not be very happy about it either. Don't really blame them a bit. But knowing what kinda support you get there and the excellent tuning Mike does I would not go anywhere else. Still, I like to have all options open to me in the future.

So, that said I will ask where did you download the Quicktune from? I will look over the SCT site again but did not see it before.

Its my understanding that SCT's all new Xtreme Personal Tuning Software and the Quicktune 2005 are one and the same!

looks like a great toy but will never replace a Troyer tune!!!

Hope this helps

You must get the exported file from your dealer, it cannot be sucked off of the Xcalibrator.

Wink Thanks

Thank you RAYJAY25

Yes, Mike is the best. He did and awsome tune for my F-150.

Doubt that I could ever improve on that.

My tunes

I had Mike put together three tunes as follows:

1. 87 Octane Towing-Compatible
2. 91 Octane Towing-Compatible
3. 91 Octane Maximum Performance.

Can't get anything other than 91 octane here in California. The rule is to only use the utmost best gas you can get. I only use Union 76 or Chevron. In a pinch I have gotten Shell without a problem.

I have run a Troyer 91 Octane tow/perf tune for over 6 months prior to getting my Xcalibrator. Never a problem.

I'm running the 91 Max Performance right now. It is a real change and I can tell much difference over the original 91 tow/perf I had before. Before Mike could do my Xcalibrator tunes I had to get my PCM back to stock from the dealer from my earlier custom tune. I went three weeks with a factory tune and what a drag it was.

But now with the new tune installed I am a happy camper.

Mike gave me:

87-octane performance
93-octane tow
93-octane max performance

Let me say that there is no way I would ever change the tunes Mike gave me. I am totally confident in his tuning expertise; he’s the MAN.
I was just curious about Quicktune 2005 and what it looked like.

Happy New Year everyone!

Not yet!

No, nothing from them on my question but its kinda moot. I already have the program. But unusable unless they were to send me my tune files. I have the e-mail/PC cable on the way. Should be here tomorrow.

Since having Mike set up my Xcalibrator I might ask him to change a few things in the future. I have the underdrive pullys and he set my idle up quite a bit. I think I may ask him to drop it about half way back to stock. I will wait a few weeks yet to see how the programming sets up in the learn mode.

I thought it was interesting that SCT did not allow the program to pull the tunes out of the Xcalibrator. Kinda like a Copyright protection I guess. Tuning dealers have to protect themselves somehow. But the question is if you pay for a tune set up then do you get a copy of the tune files other than what is in you Xcalibrator? On one hand I'd love to have everything at my disposal but on the other hand I would be really be hesitant to change anything that Mike has set up. That could get scarry if you screwed up something that messed with your engine. You don't have a dyno in yor garage or even close like Troyer has access to and has spent a lot of time settng up these trucks.
