Superchips works.....for sure.
Superchips works.....for sure.
My best 1/8 mile time stock was 9.95@70.5mph.
After intake and Superchips I turned 9.5@72.68mph WITH traction problems. I could easily have pulled 9.4's with good traction.
The truck is totally different.
I have slips to show if anyone wants to see. Normally, somebody will say it isnt possible or whatever.
But that is nearly 5 tenths off my times in the 1/8th. I would expect to see 7+ tenths off my 1/4 mile time if I had a track locally for 1/4 mile.
0 to 60 is somewhere around 6.5 seconds or so. Maybe less. I need to find a way to hook up better off the line.
With pulleys, fan kit, 4.10 gears and a custom tune I am hoping to see high 8's naturally aspirated.
Truck is kicking @$$ Mike. Thanks.

91 octane setting but I get 93 down here in FL. So I use that. I have some videos of 0 to 60mph and 20mph kickdown to 95mph I can e-mail to you. I dont have a host site so I cant post them here.
Hellbound....that's great..0-60 in 6.5 for a pickup (that's not a lightning) is kickin rump. I remember when I graduated High School and wanted a Mustang GT sooo bad, it's 0-60 numbers where 6.6.
Do you have a 4.6 or 5.4? So you already have the pulleys and e-fans? What kinda difference did they make alone. I already have Intake, Exhaust and Custom tuned 9100 Superchip. My big o' beast of a 4x4 hauls more than loads...it's flat out fast. Yesterday I got into it with a SuperDuty with a Diesel...my mistake, those things are quick once the turbos get spooled up..couldn't get me by too much though. He said he had a chip in his too. I didn't have time to talk to him and see which one, but it was pretty darn fast.
Anyway....congrats!

Chevy Sniper,
I have no fans or pulleys yet. All I have is intake, exhaust and tuner.
My 0 to 60mph is somewhere around 6.2 seconds based on the video clock. I slowed it down and I take off at the 13.5 sec mark and I am at 60mph within the 19th second. I hit 62 mph by the time the 20 second mark hit. I even chirped the tires a little off the line. So, I might be down a bit from that.
Anyway, if you wanna IM me at "deepgraymatter" on the AIM I can send the file to ya that way.
I am going to be getting fans, pulleys and 4:10 gears and a custom dyno tune. I should see 8's all motor. I am going to skip the headers and high flow cats. I think the exhaust is kickin good right now anyway.
Then comes the turbo or Supercharger.

HellBound...cool man
I saw what you were saying on another thread on here about the Hemi's and Titans. The Titan already has e-fans stock and requires 91 octane from the factory according to my Bro-in-law. My truck is really quick for a 3 ton beast and I smoked a Hemi when I had a diablo chip (that wasn't running right). I know I would smoke one with my SuperChip 9100. I want to put on the e-fans, but I want to ask people who have done it to see if it's worth it.
I'll try to IM you one of these days, just no time right now, look forward to seeing that video though...

Hi Hellbound,
Those are excellent times for that truck with those mods, goes to show you what's possible using the right combination of parts & tuning - congratulations!
For indyeng,
No, the Superchip does not void your warranty - when you use the Micro Tuner, no the dealer cannot tell it was there, you can return to stock any time.
For ChevySniper,
The E-fan conversion gives you another 15 HP and anywhere from 1-3 more mpg at the same time, so it's a real win-win type of modification. You're reducing parasitic losses, so you not only gain more power, but the engine burns *less* fuel at the same time - and you get that power gain all the time, at any throttle position, at any rpm, so it's a nice improvement to throttle response - it doesn't get much better than that. The engine no longer has to spin that 10-12 lb. factory mechanical clutch fan hanging off the front of the motor like a dead weight boat anchor - that raises power to the wheels all the time, and reduces fuel consumption at the same time - so we feel it's well worthwhile on *any* kind of vehicle, no matter how it's being used. Just FYI.....................

Sorry for so many questions but not being mechanically inclined I must ask. I assume you have to remove the oem fan to install the e fan. Is it a direct fit and is it plug and play or do you have to dice and splice.
Also I really want to do the tuner and was leaning towards the diablo until some recent posts. On the 1714 supertuner are the upgrades free? I know you have to ship it back in to get the upgrades unlike the diablo.
Thanks.

Thanks MIke. I will be hitting you up for pulleys and fan kit along with the custom tuner.
A local shop here in Fort Walton Beach, FL (RPM Performance) is also a Superchips dealer and they have a Dynojet.
I still plan on buying from you because I am going to buy all three mods at once.
Anyway, they are going to dyno tune my truck with the tuner and the laptop. The guy said he may or may not get more gains than I already have from the 1714, but he CAN make it run alot smoother with the mods if it isnt already. Smoother transition through the RPM range and so on.
I am waiting on gears too. All 4 of those additional mods should yield some great gains.
So, guys, I dont think we should underestimate the power of these 5.4's. I think they are just a little de-tuned from the factory and the power is there. Also, the competition has 5 speed tranny and a lower available gear ratio for a smaller truck in a much lighter configuration. That means better acceleration all around
I am putting down the same power (dyno results) and times as some of the HEMI guys with the same mods in the same body config. Also, keep in mind my times were still in 60 degree weather and 80% humidity.
When I headed up north (Indiana) in the 35 degree weather this truck was a beast.
The good thing is I have dyno results and timeslips to prove it. I'll keep you posted on any better results.

dyno
what were your dyno numbers- my 03 4x4 supercab on a loaded mustang went 220 rwhp at 4300 hit limiter-damn diablo and 300 ft lbs at 3800
magnaflow catback
mac intake diablo chip
my 9100 dropped my 1/4 mile times considerably with more weight humidity and temps

OpenClassPro..
Do you miss your truck at all? I know I would...
Mike Troyer...thanks for all the info, I will be ordering it soon from you.
Boomer...stay away from the diablo...trust me....and openclasspro, we know what we're talking about. Give Mike a call or visit www.troyerperformance.com good luck
Hellbound..I agree with you. These 5.4's are great motors just a little under-tuned for people that are concerned with gas mileage and stuff like that. Even though with my SuperChip 9100 I'm getting about 15 pulling a trailer pretty consistently. I'm happy with that.
