dyno testing and tuning
Alright i have read alot and i just want to make sure i go into the shop knowing all i can before the tuner just starts changing things.
What i know:
- 14.6 is what the engine normally runs at because of emissions
- because of egts you dont want to run that lean of a condition in a truck because of towing or whatnot
- at wot o2 sensors shut off and the engine is primarly running of whats in the exu (correct?)
What i need to know:
- optimal a/f for
my conditions:
http://www.weather.com/weather/local...ocalUndeclared
- should i turn off o2 sensors when i race or make the dyno pases
Other info:
- no towing, everyday use
- 4.6l bone stock with 7k miles
With what i have searched for and based on what i do with my truck i am assuming i should be running a 12.5-12.7 a/f ratio
And also:
Would a egt meter be good, even though i am gas engine?
