Diablo Predator!!

I just heard the news that Diablo released the new Predator programmer for the 2004 F-150. Their web page tells it all. Looks pretty nice.

Anyone else have any comments? What is Diablo's past history? Are these as good as or better than Superchips?

Looks like it is pretty capable. I just ordered the 1714, but am really interested if the Diablo or the 9100 will be worth getting later on.

I have installed the predator and all is well. The '04 F150 runs like a top. I have only used the 87 octane and a big difference. A few things learned tht might help someone out.

1. check the website at www.diablosport.com and see if you have the latest version of the program. Mine shipped with the outdated program and I had to download the current revision into the unit. Hence the reason for the check engine light the first two times I tried to use the unit.

2. In order to do this you have to buy some gear at Radio shack the website gives part numbers for the power, and the cable but it didn't give you the part number for the jack that connects to the power cable. The part number for the jack is adapta plug "N" 5.5mm O.D. x 2.5mm I.D. Total cost about $35.00. You will need it to view the diagnostic on the computer anyway??

3. When doing the update make sure that you use Ford 2004 update which is located right below the F150 updates if you have the new body style.

4. On diablo's download page it has the free installer software ver. 1.0 if you look just a little further down is the installer 2.0 I liked this one better because I was using COM port 2. Ver. 1.0 only will let you use COM 1

Hope this helps will keep you all posted as I get to drive it a little more.

Well working now,,,I posted a revised message make sure that you use the version that says 2004 Ford initial revision and not the revision that says F150. Makes all the difference in the world. Now my truck runs fantastic. Only had time to take er down the street but more to come.
