Superchip in...
I put my Superchip in my 98 expedition this weekend and just wanted to say I am a happy customer. Easy install, and had no starting problems. Just take your time and make sure you sand down your contacts good. It definitly feels to have a good boost in power. I actually squealed the tires in my heavy slug, although some loose sand on the road might have helped a little. The shifts feel a bit firmer, but I wouldn't mind if it shifter even harder. I am thinking gas mileage will go up a ways too, since I was beating on the truck harder than I ever have and was only averaging about 1 mpg less than normal by the time I got home. Overall it it definitly a good $225 spent. Thanks.

Hi BoostRetard,
Thanks for your post, & glad to hear you're enjoying your Superchip!
Just to let you know, the way we calibrate the automatic transmissions in our "standard" performance program for these pickup trucks & SUV's is basically best described as a "towing" type of calibration, in keeping with the original character of these types of vehicles, that is designed to reduce slippage & firm the shifts in direct relation to the amount of throttle opening. It's not designed to give really stiff upshifts, it's not like a "neck-snapping" type of calibration. If you want those shifts firmed up more, just let us know.
Sounds like you actually did pretty good running it that much harder, while mpg only dropped by 1.
When the novelty of this new go-fast part wears off a bit and driving returns to a more normal pace, hopefully you should be able to see a small improvement in fuel mileage, time will tell of course.
Have fun,

Thanks again. I am happy with how it is. This is pretty much my daily driver and tows my 9 sec. mustang. That has plenty of neck snapping shifts to keep me happy.
Maybe I'll come across some extra cash someday and put a magnacharger on it and we can redo the chip for that. Take care.

Hi BoostRetard,
Yes, I dare say a 9-second Mustang will keep you plenty happy! Not many people ever own such a vehicle, most can only dream about owning something that wickedly fast.
Have fun, & if you do decide to lay a huffer on the truck, we'll be happy to take care of the programming, of course.
Best of luck at the track!
