Hi Mikey,
Hmm, I didn't catch that one. Did you perhaps record the race, can you maybe post a picture of it here for us all to see maybe?

Hi Mikey,
I have to confess that I prefer the 1995-2000 Explorer look, we've had a few Explorers.
C&D just did a short SUV comparo between the new GM's & the Mountaineer with the 4.6 V-8 (which replaced the venerable 5.0 that was previously used in the Explorer & Mountaineer), and that Mountaineer with the 4.6 V-8 was a good performer. I still prefer the previous styling, what they've done to the new Mountaineer just doesn't appeal to me. I think the 2002 Explorer looks better than the Mountaineer, but I still prefer the previous body style. The new mechanicals are certainly welcome.
Styling is such a subjective thing, I don't like much of the new trend towards the blunt & to me ugly front-end treatments ala the Explorer Sport Trac, or the new Ranger Edge, and a number of other trucks & SUV's that have adopted that blunt & industrial-looking front-end treatment. However, others do like it, and it's being used a lot here lately!
