I guess the biggest bummer for me is that my MPG has either been lower or about the same as b4 having the tuner. So at this point, I am not gaining any benefits of using Sunoco Ultra by spending more $$$ on gas since my MPG did not increase.

I have another trip planned for next week hopefully of about 300 miles which is mostly all highway. If it still does not get any better after this I will call Mike. Perhaps there is just something wrong with my tuning.

Other than that, I am very impressed with the 9100. Its a HUGE difference from stock.

I too have noticed the same thing that Jaguar has. My milelage has actually gone down some. My Perf setting doesnt shift much harder than stock either. The perf setting isnt as powerfull as the tow setting, in fact, my truck was 4/10 th's faster using the tow tune verses the perf tune. I am using quality 93 octane and have an intake and exhaust. What gives?

alrighty guys, I'm back! I'm posting the mileage I got on a round trip from Barstow, CA to Nashville, TN then to Ashland, KY and back to Barstow. From Nashville to Ky and back to California I was pulling a 2500 lb trailer. From Barstow to Nashville I had the 91 performance tune loaded, from then on was the 91 tow mode. I averaged 75 all the way there and back...cruise control was set except for about 40 miles right before Memphis, TN...some tractor trailers had the hammer down and we were doing between 90 and 100 mph..Here goes:

Barstow----Kingman=207.5 @ 13=16 mpg
Kingman----Winslow=198 @13=15.2 mpg
Winslow-----Albq= 238 @15= 15.8 mpg
Albq-----------Amarillo= 324 @ 19= 17 mpg
Amarillo------OK City= 220 @ 13= 17 mpg
OK City-------Ft. Smith= 177 @ 10= 17.7 mpg
Ft. Smith-----Memphis= 234 @ 14= 16.7 mpg
Memphis-----Nashville= 283 @ 18= 15.7
Nashville-----? Ky= 222 @ 15= 14.8 mpg
? Ky------------Grayson= 203 @ 17= 12 mpg
Grayson-----Louiseville= 152 @ 13= 12 mpg
Louiseville----? Illinois= 141 @ 10= 14 mpg
? Illinois-------St. Louis= 157 @ 14= 11 mpg
St. Louis-------Springfield= 180 @ 15= 12 mpg
Springfield---Tulsa= 293 @ 19= 12.5 mpg
Tulsa---------Erick= 183 @ 13= 14 mpg
Erick-----------Amarilllo= 137 @ 11= 12 mpg
Amarillo------Albq= -----sorry forgot to record that one
Albq------------Gallup= 129 @ 10= 13 mpg
Gallup---------Winslow= 123 @ 9= 13.6 mpg
Winslow-------Kingman= 198 @ 14= 14 mpg...

With the tuner the truck pulled like a champ, I was climbing big hills/ mountains and could barely tell the trailer was back there..

Hope this helps with some of the questions about mileage you guys my have. Oh yeah, if you notice on the distances and mileages before Nashville the ones with higher mileage I had my tailgate down. I know, I know, it's not suppose to help, but in my personal experience it made a big difference, I don't care what the studies say.

chevysniper,
In your other post you said you were averaging 18 mpg around town. Yet on your trip, the portion without the trailer, you were averaging around 16.5. That doesn't make much sense.

yeah, kinda strange. When I got back home and did some around town driving I filled up again and was 182 miles @ 10 gallons....go figure. I'm sure it has to do with driving habbits. I wonder if the altitude up here where I live has something to do with it? I should definitely get better mileage on the road, but for some reason I didn't....I know the altitude takes away power, but is it possible that it gives better mileage? I'll probably need to fill up today and I've been pulling my trailer all weekend, see what I get..

oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the better gas I got the better gas mileage I got. A couple times I found 93 octane and the truck ran better and got better gas mileage...

Around Amarillo, TX on the I 40 there is no 91 octane to be found, just 90..so I dumped a bunch of octane booster in it and got 17-17.7 miles per gallon, the best I got the whole trip.
