Swampfox,
I feel compelled to respond to your post because I am thrilled with my Superchip. I don't know too much about the Jet chip, but I've heard it wasn't the best. I did a bit of research before purchasing the Superchip. I would suggest you do the same. Reviewing some of the posts from the past may give you some insight into how the Superchip has worked for different people. I believe it is necessary to have a reasonable expectation of what you can expect from the Superchip. For the cost, the Superchip does a great deal. For an even bigger cost though, something like a supercharger would do more. I only say this because had I not done some research I might have my expectations too high. I don't mean you would.
Well, I'm goin on and on. I am very happy with the Superchip. I think you will see, so are many others. It's worth the money!
Good luck!
Tom

Hi swampfox25,
Yes, you're going to find that the Superchip is *far* different from that Jet chip. Every person here on F-150 Online who has ever tried the Jet and the Superchip on the same vehicle has always posted that they preferred the Superchip hands down, and most of them turned their Jet chips into paperweights. Jet is about the worst of the bunch, so it's no wonder you're not satisfied with it, and you're not alone.
I think it's also important to heed what "Wittom" said in his response, that it's important to have reasonable expectations of what the Superchip can really do. It's not going to feel like a supercharger, but you will feel it, and it's a very nice and inexpensive way to pick up a 10%-12% increase in power.
If you'd like to go over this in more detail, please feel free to give us a call at our number below, we'll be happy to speak with you in detail about what you can expect from the Superchip, etc.
We also have an online ordering system for the Superchip right here on F-150 Online, and you can access it by clicking on the link just below in our signature line.
Best of luck with your truck,

superschips_distributor,
i agree that the jet module is a pos. the only thing i can tell is my shift points. i was wondering if the superchip changes the top speed limiter and if you need to tell all your mods before ordering.

You won't remember me...maybe, but this is Tuxedo, the Guy that had the '98 Nascar Truck, that hated the piece of junk JET junk, and was supposed to buy the '99 Lightning, but didn't...well, I need a Superchip...'kay?
Right now, I'm driving a 2000 Lariat 4.6 with computer code BIK2...can you help spank my friends Dodge Ram?

Tell you what guys. I had both the Jet and Hypertech chips. All I can say is, GOOD RIDDENS!! Installed my Superchip 2 weeks ago. What a difference. Blows both them chips out of the water. When you call Mike, he'll ask you questions on what your looking to get out of the chip. If you want one then, then he'll ask for your computer code located on the passenger side inside door jamb. It should be (or at least mine was) three letters and a number. It has a bar code over top of the #'s an letters. Hope this helps. Believe me, you won't be disappointed with this great mod.

Hi Mickeys97Lariet,
The Superchip normally removes the top speed limiter in most of these vehicles.
The types of modifications you can do that *DO NOT* affect the programming enough to need to compensate: K&N air filters, airbox elimination kits, & exhaust system changes. In other words, most of the more popular exterior bolt-on parts that you see people doing here.
The types of modifications that *WILL* affect your programming enough to require custom programming compensations are: changing the MAF (mass airflow meter), and then the obvious major mechanical modifications, such as supercharging, nitrous oxide, ported cylinder heads, gear ratio changes in 1999 or newer F-trucks, etc. And, the Superchip can always be updated with a custom program in the future, thanks to its flash design, if you should ever decide to do those types of modifications.
To place your order for the Superchip, you can either call us, or use our online ordering system. Our contact info is below as well as a link to our online ordering system, for your convenience.
If you'd like to go over any of this in more detail, please feel free to give us a call.

Hi Pointing,
Yes, we have the Superchip available for that code, it's been out for some time now. That BIK2 code was one of the earlier codes for those 4.6 motors in the 2000 model year, you'll like how it responds.
To place your order, you can either give us a call or use our online ordering system, all the info to do it either way is just below in our signature line.
I don't know what state of tune your friend's Ram is in, so I can't honestly tell you for sure that you'll beat him with 100% certainty, but the Superchip will certainly help get that 4.6 down the road quicker, it's the single best bang-for-the-buck mod for these vehicles, you'll enjoy it.
Figure that it should give you an average of 3-5 tenths off your 0-60 and 1/4 mile times, so if you 2 guys are racing together and he's beating you by 5 truck lengths or less in the 1/4 mile, this should get you caught up pretty quick. And if he's beating you by only a couple of truck lengths, you should be able to get him.
Have fun, & give us a call if you want to go over the details, etc.
