high miles can it be chiped

Hi FordRaceFan,
That depends on the engine's health, as well as how the vehicle is operated, basically. As long as it's running well, not being abused and not using oil, then you should be OK to do it.
Of course, if you start doing modifications and also start driving it harder too, chances are it's not going to take that as long as a "fresher" engine would, but that's obvious, I'm sure you already know that.
Today's engines can usually go 200,000 - 250,000 miles before major work is needed as long as the vehicle is properly maintained. It used to be that if you had 80,000 miles on an engine, it was close to being on it's last legs, but that has changed quite a bit thanks to advances in metallurgy, assembly techniques and lubricants. So nowadays you can reasonably expect to see 200,000 miles or so from a well-maintained engine.
Ultimately, this is up to you and how you feel about the general health of your engine. Please feel free to give us a call if you'd like to go over this in more detail.
