Talking New Best ET

Last night under not so good conditions, I ran a 15.651 at 87 mph in my 99 supercab F-150. It was over 70 degrees and the humidity was very high here in South Louisiana. There were a couple of 5.3 chevy trucks there and the were around 16.0-16.2. The track hooked up good and I got very little wheel spin. Reaction time on my best run was .560, 60 foot time 2.230. I was pleased.

Hi Mikey,

Those reaction times are improving nicely. That .560 on a .500 "tree" is *very* good, congratulations!

And congrats as well on knocking off some of those 5.3 Chevies, that'll make everyone here happy I'm sure!

Thanks Mike, that's about 3/4 of a second from the first time I ran. Maybe those bolt on mods really do work!!!!! You have helped me in the past and I thank you.

Well, I beat it again. Ran a 15.498 just under 88 mph. My truck bounced really bad upon take off and decreased the 60' times a little, but I was happy and surprised. The weather was very warm and the humidity was up also.

Cool

Roger that. Already I can tell you that the spacer feels the same as the poweraid, but NO whistle!!

Hey Mike (Superchip Lord)...

Yup, this is the spacer my buddy and I have been tinkering with. We design and machine them out of phenolic (very low heat conductance) material. I was hoping to go out to the track this week but wife and I are maybe getting new home. I'm giving one to CrazyaboutF150 (Bim Scott) for him to play with. Once we get some good or bad data on it, I'll share the data. And if it's good, then my buddy and I may gear up to make to sell. I've talked with Roger Lemere about it and he's interested. Once we've gotten all the manufacturing bugs out, I'll send him one for his evaluation. Would love to get some dyno data but not available to me (both physically and monetarily). If you are interested and have dyno time, I would send you one to play with. If you want to talk about it just email me at mjhengel@ucdavis.edu or 530-752-2402 (work), as for Matt

So many projects so little time, right?!

I'll keep everybody posted on the progress. You can see some early work on my website below. I'll be adding some pictures of the 1" spacer soon.

Hi 5150,

Is this a throttle body spacer that you have made, perhaps? I ask just because lot of people comment on the whistle they get with the Poweraid spacer when used in conjunction with an airbox elimination kit. If you've got one that you feel adds power and doesn't whistle, that might help some people here!
