1714 rev limiter?
1714 rev limiter?
I see from the .pdf manuals online that one can raise the rev limiter with the 1714.
Anyone kow what is the 1714's "raised" rpm limit is and should it stock limit be raised for the "performance" tune??

You will NOT have the ability to go in and dictate what the rev limiter is set to - you can't "set" it at any specific rpm in other words - it does that **automatically to coincide with the full-throttle upshift points**.
It allows you to choose whether the rev limiter & shift points are raised at all or not, just like it allows you to choose whether the top speed limiter is raised or not. Then if you want the shift points raised, it automatically adjusts the rev limiter & downshift points to match - all of that is described in the documentation you get when you actually purchase the unit.
And on the top speed limiter, the 1714 only allows that to be raised ONLY if you answer "Yes" when it asks you if you have "Z" rated tires.
As always, what we recommend is to simply take the Superchips defaults for shift points and shift pressures, as they are already optimized - period. We advise everyone to forget thinking that "more is better" and cranking everything all the way up - bad move. Just take the "Superchips" setting for shift points and shift firmness levels when you go into the Options menu.
Then drive it that way for AT LEAST a month or so, so that you'll know how it shifts & behaves in many different driving situations - otherwise you won't have a clue where to start making changes from, or even if you actually need to make any changes, as you won't have any experience with what the Superchips default changes are. We strongly advise just taking the Superchip defaults for shift points & shift pressures in the 1714 & that will do the trick nicely.
