Talking Thanks "Mike T."

Thanks for info on my "confused" post.

The 3.73 axle ratio on my truck is stock from the factory. Just needed clarification of that.

Adaptive stragedy, ok, got it.

Just seems to me, after the superchip install, AT. stays in 3rd gear abit longer before shifting into OD.

What do ya think Mike, sometimes my mind does play tricks on me, etc and other things that i won't mention. HA OT

Hi Old-Timer,

You're very welcome, of course!

And yes, if the factory upshift point for any of the upshifts is too low, whether it's the 1-2, 2-3, or the 3-4 (into Overdrive, which is 4th gear), then it will be raised.

On another note, what also can sometimes happen is the light-throttle upshifts can happen a bit sooner, due to the increased torque from the Superchip, as the ECU will upshift into the next gear on light-throttle as soon as it determines it can do that without loosing speed. So the light-throttle upshifts when driving very conservatively can happen a bit sooner, but as you give it more and more throttle opening, it will start responding with a more performance-oriented shift point, based on the driver's demand for more power via more throttle.
